When I retired in 2016 I built up 2x Cotic Souls for me and Mrs Fruitbat. Now we've gone a bit more up to date and have 2x Cotic Solarises (Solari?)

We got two orange frames from the Cotic outlet and I built the bikes up to fairly light spec (c.12.25kg).

Hunt XC wheels, Victoria Mezcal tyres (tubeless), Reba Gold fork, XT 10-51 12sp cassette, XT chainset 30T 170mm, XT shifter, XT brakes.

Neither of us had ridden a 29er before and it's been quite an epiphany 😃

Now need to sell two Souls!

Really nice. I looked at Cotic hardtails for ages before settling on something else but still keep going back and looking at their website…

will you be sticking a dropper post on?

Looks really nice. I’ve always wanted a Solaris, but a hardtail is not my main bike so can never afford/ justify one. Hope they serve you well!

Looks really great. Remember when I swapped my soul for a 29er hardtail, was a total revelation.  How are you finding the reba gold forks?

Still got my Mk1 Soul. Sadly rarely get a chance to ride where I need it, so no need to upgrade.

You can't sell your Soul! At least I can't. Cotic have shot themselves in foot by making a bike so good that I don't need to buy anything else.

Not planning on droppers - we tend not be doing severe enough stuff to make it wothwhile 😀 (too old 😃)

So far they seem rather good. At least the 35mm stanchions appear to be less prone to flutter. Haven't done much on rough ground yet but they do feel good. Good price too (relatively).

Ah thanks but too big, I'm on the hunt for an XS 26er to build a new bike for my son and a soul would've been nice to match my cotic 😄

But they are really nice for getting on and off the bike (whether you’re old or not). 😉 And more seriously, I think they make bikes safer on any trails, so I’d consider them as a future upgrade.

Nice bikes though!
