Rides lovely, although I need to swap the stem for one a touch shorter and 0 rise so it doesn’t look so stupid.

Currently in gravel trim, I have a set of Ultegra C50 wheels set up for road which are a straight swap. Weighs in at 20lb with pedals and the off-road wheels, which I’m pleasantly surprised with. Road wheel setup will lose another couple of pounds due to lighter tyres.

Ribble CGR Ti

Do I dare mention it was bought on cycle2work given the other thread? My office is 8 miles away on canal towpaths…

And yes, I know I need to trim my bush and tidy my rocks.

Flip stem and put all spacers under stem as a temp fix? Probably means it will encourage you to use the drops a bit more.

Nice, plus pretty light for a gravel.

That’s 10 degree 110mm stem. Flipped, even at the top will be too low for me.

It came with a 120mm 6 degree which is too long. I cocked up a bit as I could have spec’d a shorter one.

Have a 90mm 0 degree Hope stem coming (gotta match the seatpost), which should be spot on with those spacers under it, as the bars have quite a reach to them. That give me the same saddle to hoods distance as my other road/Zwift bike. It’ll also mean I can bring the saddle back about 10mm which will place me better in relation to the bb.

Looks great! Bars could do with rotating down a touch I think, get the drops parallel with the ground. I really like the look of the 12spd Ultegra.

Does your disc alignment work between the two sets of wheels? I'd like to have a gravel and road wheel set but this has always put me off a bit, so I end up swapping tyres instead.

FWIW I think a positive rise stem and no spacers looks better than the alternative.

Bars are actually level on the tops. Whilst totally pointless, I optioned aero bars so the tops are flat.

Regarding the wheels, I’m taking a bit of a gamble. Those are Mavic Ksyriums in the picture and obviously my other wheels are Shimano. I haven’t built them up yet but I’ve got the same rotors, so hoping they’re in the same place.

No way of slamming the stem and using positive rise to get my bar position right without probably using a plus 17 degree which would look silly. I prefer the look of a ‘flat’ stem and just accept that because I’m tall but with a short back and not as flexible as I was 25 years ago I’ll always have spacers under the stem.

All fair. I've got a +17 stem on my commuter though ;-p

It’s a Ribble CGR Ti.

I bought the Ultegra DI2 version (wireless 12 speed is awesome!) and used Ribble’s customisation options to change the wheels and bars. Then put my own seat post, saddle and pedals on that I prefer. Well, and stem when it comes.

But the ethics…..

Lovely. What is it size wise? I find myself bang in the middle of medium and large on ribbLes sizing charts. I’m looking at the carbon version myself but I imagine it’s the same geo

It’s a Large. I’m technically between the L and XL at 187cm tall with an 86cm inside leg.

Be careful though, the carbon and Ti frames aren’t the same geo. Head tube is effectively longer on Ti as it uses a traditional headset button cup, the carbon and other metal frames are integrated. Seat angle is a touch different too. Minor differences but might be enough to make you one size in one material but a different one in another. I spent a long time looking at geometry charts and using bikegeocalc.com to compare to my current bike.

50-34 on the chainset, and 11-34 on the cassette.

Chose Ultegra rather than GRX as the bike will primarily be a road bike for me.

I set up the road wheels last night and found that the front is fine, but the back has a slight rub. Two courses of action; I either centre the calliper each time I swap the wheels, or I figure out why the rear calliper’s pistons are closer to the disc than the front. Might just need the pistons pushing back, and then bleeding again. The new Ultegra callipers are supposed to have more disc clearance than before.

Indexing was perfect though, so at least no need to tweak that with a swap.

Have the new zero rise stem now, and that setup it looks much more aesthetically pleasing, although I’ve put the mudguards on to raise the ugliness factor.

I had success using wafer thin Hope rotor spacers on six bolt wheelsets (set up with gravel/road tyres) to get perfect caliper alignment between wheel swaps, but don't know if there's a similar option for centrelock? Nice bike BTW

Very Nice....just got a gravel bike too....what mudguards did you go for?

Christened it. Gonna need a new helmet. Turns out gravel tyres and cold damp tarmac don’t mix. Who’d have thought?

Scratched up Ultegra DI2 lever

Will also need some new pedals, looks like I bent the axle of the left one when it went down.

what mudguards did you go for?

Dunno what they are actually, unbranded ones that Ribble supplied with it. Look like either SKS or a rip-off of them. Probably going to bin them anyway as the toe-verlap is really annoying.

One of those really thin washers you get on a cassette lock ring behind the rotor might very well do the trick. I’ll experiment.

Oh, turns out you can get shims for centerlock rotors. Will grab some of them.

Right, last bit of showing off.

Proper length and angle stem on now (Hope to match the seatpost, natch), bit of bling on the seat collar (er, Hope) and roadie wheels. Deep section wheels don’t make up for the fat bloke on top.

Ribble CGR Ti

Looks so much better without the road wheels but with the ultegra groupset and gearing, tell the truth you wanted a road bike but we're too shy to admit it so went through the back door and bought a "gravel bike" then faked an accident you can blame on the gravel tyres thus justifying the road conversion for safety reasons 😉

Nah, looks great. #norulesjustride

Oh, no, I absolutely did want a road bike! But my must-haves included…

* titanium

* ‘endurance’/touring geometry

* titanium

* full internal cable routing

* titanium

* able to fit full mudguards with 30c road tyres

* titanium

Ribble smartly recognise that people want to do both road and gravel, and offer a bike that once upon a time would just have been called a tourer, but ticked all my boxes which most ‘endurance’ road bikes don’t. I bought it in gravel trim, because I didn’t like the road wheels they offered with it, and bought the Ultegra ones in last November’s Black Friday sale. I was actually going to use the Mavic wheels that came with it as winter road wheels but decided to leave the gravel tyres on them. Best of both worlds, but primarily, it’s my main road bike.
