New Bike Day for me last Friday.

Been busy riding other bikes so only just got round to posting this up.

Stumpy15 Expert with a few bits swapped out.

Not a massive fan of SRAM brakes so despite the Mavens feels ok on the test bike I tried I went with my go to brake of the moment the Hope Tech 4 V4 .

The BB is pretty low on it and after having a few pedal strikes on the test I went for a shorter crank. Hope 155 mm and lowered the gearing from a 32 to a 30.

Not 100% sure if I'll stick with the 30t as the chain is pretty close to the chainstays. If it turns out to be a bit slappy I'll jump back up to a 32.

Also had to have a new BB to fit the crank so went with a Hope for that too.

Had a tyre swap to Alberts, Trail Utrasoft front , Gravity Soft rear.

Fitted my bar of choice the One-up carbon.

Slapped a Dyebros frame protection kit on it and then gave it a Gtechniq ceramic coating treatment.

Not going to ride it until later in the week to give the ceramic time to bond to the frame properly.

Just had a very quick spin round on it and taken it off a jump the junior division of the local Endurobros have built at the back of our house to get me started on setting the suspension up.🤣

If I'm being picky, the trainers on the floor need tidying away, and the curtain to the left of the door is not hanging quite straight.

Nice bike.

Solid looking table and bench. Decent banana, would have preferred it a bit closer to the bike.

Other than less strikes, do the 155 cranks feel different? Or is it not really noticeable?

Not really much different to me but I do have 155's on my Eeber so I'm used to them from that.

Rode my Enduro bike this morning which has 165's then when I jumped on this it didn't really feel that different. It's more noticeable switching from 155 back to 165 for some reason.

Nice bike, is the genie good or a novelty?  Sounds like a good idea on paper

One gold star to whoever left you a decent amount of steerer to play with.

I'll let you know after I've played around with settings.

The test ride left me confident I could get it working well for me but time will tell.

Got a bag full of Genie spacers as well as end stroke ramp up spacers to experiment with.

All the grey leaves it a little cold looking. Needs more contrast in fittings. Same for the bike.

I read the title as “banana for sale”. In my head it makes perfect sense following on from NBD.
It’s a lovely colour - yellow!

Good colour coordination between curtains, trainers and bike. A well thought out combination.

Taking the bike in isolation: very nice and lovely upgrades. 😎

Have you got the BB in the high or low set up?

On my G3 Levo, I put the -1deg headset cup in and left the BB in the high setting and happy with how it rides. Obvs slightly different geo to your bike, but similar

Yes, not sure if it's small or far away.

Not normally a Spesh fan but that looks nice in a de-badged sleeper BMW kind of way.

Extra #Endurobros points if the banana had been fidlocked to the bike in some way.

To address a few questions.

What's a Dull Mens Club? 😉

BB is in high with the headset in slack. Test bike was in middle headset and high rear.(My Levo is fully slacked with a longer fork)

The 155 cranks have totally removed any pedal strike problems and don't seem to have affected the power to any great extent.

I'm looking forwards to your next visit Mark and you hopefully not dying after half a ride. 😛

The banana was medium sized and an average distance away. 🤨

*Goes in search of Enduro approved banana holster.*

Bonus point to anyone that can tell me where the wooden chopping board on our table came from?

First ride on it today and it's shaping up to be a pretty good bike by the look of things.

Not sure it'll last as long as the bike it's replaced at seven years old but we'll see.

Nowt for a wrong answer. 😝

It used to be much bigger too but you'd have needed to be a singlespeeder BITD to recognise it.

Back to the bike.

I've just taken delivery of and fitted a 54t star ratchet to the rear wheel to improve pedal pickup speed and give it moar zzzzzzzzzzz.

@Del

We have a winner. Your prize is another massive hangover and bike ride but you'll have to come up here and collect it in person.

I think that bellend eventually disappeared up his own arse. 😂

Just found a picture of the cheese board when it was still whole.

Bananas Don't Grow On Trees.  There's a book about it -
