I really do have a soft spot for Cotics! 🤣 After I sold my MK5 Soul last year, I kind of wanted something different to complement the Spur, which was seeing a lot of use way outside it's remit, commuting and light gravel rides. I turned 30 in December and had a rough start to the year so thought why the fudge not treat myself!

I've had it about 2 weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. It handles a lot of my tamer singletrack around my parents back in the midlands and is fast on the commute as well, even with 44mm Raddlers on! I plan to treat it to the same trial by fire I gave my old Genesis Datum and give it a run round the blue at Llandegla for giggles at some point too 😂 Really pleased with it, and Rival AXS is just as impressive as the GX AXS on the Spur. Spec below for anyone interested 🙂

Cotic Escapade - Medium in Matte Army Green
SRAM Rival AXS drivetrain & hydro brakes- 40T chainring, 175mm crank, 10-44T cassette, Force Chain, 160mm HS2 rotors
Hope 20Five wheels - tubeless with 44mm WTB Raddlers
Hope Headset & unbranded carbon spacers
Zipp Service Course bar, stem & post - 46mm wide bars and 110mm stem (may try a 100mm)
Battered old XT pedals and Ergon SM Enduro Saddle from the spares I had from the Spur

Just bought some WTB gravel tyres... with black walls... those pics make me wish I'd got tan walls instead. Oh well.

Very nice...thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these myself. I’m 5ft 11 ( and half )! Seem to fall between M or L according to website. Just wondered your size for the saddle height?

That looks lovely. Tan walls all the way if you ask me.

@kelvin, yeah always go tan wall for gravel!!

@cooperee, it's a size medium and a smidge taller than you at around 6ft. I do prefer a slightly smaller road/gravel bike though, I matched the geo to my previous Genesis Datum I sold a few years back as it fitted perfectly but just couldn't take the size of tyre I wanted. I'm right on the minimum insertion that Cotic recommend with a 350mm post mind.

I did think a large might work, but I'd need to run a 80/90mm stem slammed on top of the head tube to get the same position, so the medium just gave me more options for getting the fit just right.

I do kind of want a Reverb AXS XPLR for it, but would prefer to go fully wireless on the Spur first! 😂

Nice! I keep looking at these as a possible upgrade to my current bike and I really like that colour.

I've just ordered a set of 44mm Raddlers with black walls too 🫤

Lovely

Tan walls very much depend on the colour of your bike. They look lush on the OPs Escapade as they have a nice earth tone vibe about them next to the green. In contrast, i'm on a Camino Ti and tan walls look bloody horrid on a silver frame.

YMMV

Whereas, I'm on a Ti Pickenflick and think tan walls absolutely suit the frame colour ...

Yeah tan walls on a Ti frame are a must for me, just looks too plain otherwise! I did contemplate a Cotic Tonic when they came out, but just couldn't justify the price. If they do another run though...
