Entries opened at 7am this morning and I've managed to get myself organised and enter this year.

Anyone else? Really looking forward to it. Now to try and get fit and ride my bike instead of mooching about on t'internet.

Enjoy is does look a cracking event. I was going to pop over this year but a fairly BBQ offer came up instead.

Got an earlybird entry last week, fingers crossed for weather like this year's, actually a little bit cooler would be a bonus as it was near 30°. Stages this year were some of the best I've ridden in a long time and I personally thought it was the best one so far, can't wait

I think I'll do it again.
Having landed face first on the rocks on stage 5 I have unfinished business.....
Need to work on my fitness though, the transitions nearly broke me.

I worked on my fitness all year and the transitions still broke me. Did you see its graded the second hardest EWS category?

Eldest_oab did it. Great riding.

Huuuuge queues through too many competitors. (400+ ?)
No water on connecting stages.
No showers.
Not great amount of water on campsite. (Thankfully I had sent him with our 10L canoe water cannister)

Most expensive Enduro he entered last year.

I'm not sure he is going back. Not impressed.

I was going to pre-enter but need to wait until our annual holiday list is done at work. I will be back if I can get the time off. Hardtail again.

Agreed the transitions were a killer but in all honesty I was, on paper, well out my depth in fitness terms. Props to the guys who did the Frontier then went out for practice!

Matt, the water situation was resolved on the Sunday. Everyone was pissed off but people spilling it everywhere at the pizza wagon didn't help matters. The lack of water was also clearly communicated in the briefing pack, advice was to bring 10l per person. I thought the event went well and the marshalls were brilliant with no pressure to get down the hill at the back of the pack.

I did the practice day but cut my leg open on stage 4 and decided to pull out of the race. Was a bit gutted as I had made an attempt to train in the preceding months but it was too painful to ride.

My impression of the event was that the organisation was well intentioned but overstretched. The water situation on the Saturday was poor but a lot of riders were going out with nothing more than 1 bottle on a 25 degree blue sky day. That's not the organisers fault.

The gravel ride looked a bit tacked on and the people I spoke to weren't impressed with it but hopefully they keep going and sort it out. I'm not rushing to re-enter at the moment but might reconsider.

Absolutely, I had a 2l bladder and just about exhausted that getting to 2. I was actually shocked at what folk were going out with, maybe from the fact I'd never done an Enduro before so wasn't expecting water everywhere and feed stations.

Eldest_oab took 2L of water.

It seems that paying £90 for a weekends riding and not having enough water at campsite or anywhere on stages is ok?

That said, the weather was extreme, however the weather was well forecast.

This was what he said to. Worst organised of the whole series and races he entered this year, but done with a smile and a hope...

Entry was similar price to SES, presumably they don't offer camping, do they have the music or movie night? At the end of the day for £6 a night I wouldn't be expecting much.

The hill water was badly organised but as said people were being extremely wasteful and emptied the IBC at stage 2 because they couldn't (wouldn't) regulate the flow. The weather was also much better than forecast, in the lead up it was to be overcast at 16deg IIRC and I was checking every day.

As for the camping water, I'll say again that was covered in the entry pack. I don't think it's really that much of a hassle to bring some water especially with decent notice.

End of the day I feel I got my moneys worth. Others may feel differently.

I'm interested in doing this, but just how difficult is it? I've seen a few Youtube vids and it does look steep, but not impossible. Or am I just kidding myself??
