Anyone else in?

Toughest Enduro in the UK by my reckoning,

I did it a few years ago and just about got round, a few crashes and a lack of testicular fortitude means I have unfinished business

fingers crossed for the weather, the low profile tyre i had on the back for the southern champs will probably be getting swapped out for something draggier, but able to grip on the steeps, lets hope its not Les Gets muddy tho!

long way out but forecast looks hopeful atm

yes at the moment, ;0) I'm planning on taking a spare front wheel Shorty fitted, as my assegai tends to be terrible in mud.

any one got a route map, strava of the transitions, whats the elevation on the day , compulsory practise?

Not doing it this year but I've done it a few times, practice is compulsory but I know several people who didn't do a full practice loop and still raced on the Sunday last year. It was around 25 miles, 4700ft of climbing and some of the stages are VERY steep, I was ruined by the 4th stage on race day. They've been doing a fair bit of work on the trails recently and I'd agree its definitely one of, if not the hardest enduro n the UK, definitely the hardest I've done, I think there was well over 150 non starters after practice when I last did it with a fair few saying they were expecting something like Ardrock. While both are big days out but the Naughty is on another level compared to Ardrock

theres plenty of really great fun sections , some of the best Ive ridden, but certainly last time there were a couple of stages that were steep and testing and some technical features that were challenging

I did the Coquet Classic enduro last weekend which was, afaik, organised by 1 of the lads behind the 1st Naughty Northumbrian and was really good. Its in the hills around Rothbury not far from where the NN is held and wasn't as hard/techy/steep, similar distance but all blind racing with no practice allowed on fresh loamy stages. If it runs again nxt year I'd thoroughly recommend doing it

I shall be doing it, for the 3rd time, I think my first time was its first time, and as above lots of people dropped out after a very wet practice day and never actually raced it, it was more rainy on race day so less claggy and actually easier...

I am not a challenger, but always enjoyed the trails/riding so looking forward to it.

Its not looking toooo bad from a forecast perspective, so fingers crossed it all runs well, but I'm not local and so not sure what the ground conditions leading into the W/E will be like.

Its been so dry here, that the recent rain has just been absorbed and the trails actually running better than in the dust.

I'll be on my Tod, as the wife I think isn't going to bother coming up and none of my riding buddies entered.

Shorty's definitely going to come with me, but hoping not to need them!

I'm not doing it this year but a couple of mates are, forecast for rain from Saturday afternoon until early hour's of Sunday so practice might not be too bad but racing on Sunday could be pretty spicy ( its pretty spicy in perfect conditions to be honest) . I'm pretty sure they've built a completely new stage for this year

Shorty's definitely going to come with me, but hoping not to need them!

I'd be fitting at least the front before I started practice personally

If the weather isn't too bad I plan on riding in on the Sunday to watch the end of some stages. I'm wondering if they will route you into the forest up the Usway Burn instead of back down to Alwinton and up Clennel. I guess they won't publish a map so will need to go to the farm itself to find out where to go watch.

Ive fitted shortys f/r to my spare wheels…

Well that was tough going. Definitely at the top end of my skill level.

Minging weather on Saturday & 3 crashes, including an OTB on the scree on stage 2, over 4 stages in practice had me considering bailing.

Much better weather today & managed to keep it rubber side down on all five stages.

Glad I fitted the shorty up front, I very nearly didn't.

practice was hard and finishing in the rain didn't help, entertainment in the barn was great, loved the guy on the bongos doing Limp Bizkit & Snoop Dog!

must admit listening to the relentless wind and rain in my tent last night i was not too excited , but it was glorious today

& thanks to the 2 guys who helped push my Zafira out the mud

I see it was only 5 stages this year, was one dropped? Its always started as  6 stages when I've done it previously but they've cut it to 5 for race day a couple of times due to the weather conditions

no was only 5 this time, the campsite was in a different place so that added 7k each way onto the loop, bit of a shame, that said the crazy rain the night before made the tracks a challenge as t was

I rode in to watch yesterday from the bottom of some stages then up to the top of the two hills with 2 stages on. Conditions under the trees did look horrible after all that rain! Most seemed to be having fun though 🙂
