You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Well British Cyclings info is poor and the only signs of a big race coming to town are a single poster on the top prom, some signs warning of no parking on Sunday and the unusual sight of pro cyclists sat in the sun drinking coffee round town this morning.
Please post up what you know, race spoilers, etc.
Best infor I've found is on the council website here: https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/british-national-road-championships/british-national-road-championships-road-race
Circuit is 18.8km.
Women's race starts at 9am and is 7 laps.
Mens race starts at 1:30 and is 10 laps.
The route through town comes from the sea front, up Saltburn Bank then goes straight on up Victoria Road before joining Guisborough road between the school and the golf club.
Parking in town is always busy on a sunny day so come early if parking in town or the council is organising park and ride, trains usually work OK or cycle along route 1 from Marske or Redcar is easy and OK with kids.
Hope the thunderstorms hold off and looking forward to a big(ish) race that I can walk to.
Some pics of the circuit race that was in Redcar on Friday night are here:

I'm working on it (driving one of the Commissaires).
No idea on local info, BC page is here:

It's a brutal course. Steep long climb and then a mix of some technical and insanely fast descending back to the prom.
Not sure what parking will be available in town - Traffic Management guys are putting out No Parking comes now so I suspect it'll be very limited.
@crazy-legs do you know where the finish line is? Is it just near the top of the bank or are they having another couple of hundred metres for a flat sprint?
I've looked at the map more closely. I assume it goes from Saltburn to Skelton, Skelton Green, Boosbeck, Lingdale, Kilton, Brotton, Saltburn.
It is a mega hard route, even that lane from Lingdale to Kilton undulates and can be fairly broken up.
Hopefully a good race.
Anyone wanting local info just ask.

Glenside.
Up Saltburn Bank, onto the flat (OK, flattish...) bit at the summit then fork left and the finish line is outside Brockley Hotel.
The deviation for team cars is off to the right up Windsor Road.
Thanks. Good spot for a finish with lots of spectator space both sides of the road.
Women's race is off

And there is a 'Bike Art Trail' for anyone wanting to explore town between laps. Maps from Drift Surf Shop, halfway between the top of the bank and the finish

Don't think G. Thomas started. No mention on the commentary and only seen 3 INEOS riders, may be a 4th somewhere our back.

Edit: sorry long range phone shots
That was brutal. The course was super hard - very quickly the Women's race got whittled down from the back as riders were being shelled out plus it was hot and humid. A lot of extra bodies in the feed zone each time we passed as riders abandoned.
Then suddenly out of nowhere there was a breakaway and that was it, they rode it onto the finish.

Pfeiffer Georgi. But yeah, that group of 7 had worked pretty well together then Alex Morris has a minor fall, slowly clawed the gap back then once the attacks started properly, she went out the back door. And Pfeiffer just timed it to perfection on the hill.
Men's race was a rapid start and surprisingly it took ages for a break to form. A group of about 7 had a good long dig at it but they were more or less being left to hang out there because once the remnants of the bunch started working, the gap disappeared very quickly. Lots of half efforts but the course was just too hard for anyone to really commit, they more or less rode it as a war of attrition with the course weeding out the weak. That torrential downpour with about 2-3 laps to go also helped! Absolutely chucked it down for about 10 mins, the roads were like rivers in places. And the final group of 9 splintered into a 6 and 3, then the 6 became a 3, 2 and 1 and of the front 3, Fred had it once he got a gap on the descent.
It'll be great to see him wearing the jersey in the Tour next week. 🙂
There were a lot of riders after that who could barely move - people riding over the line and just collapsing.
Women’s race is off
My car! 🙂
