Thought I'd come back to here after a period away just to enthuse about this race.

What a course! If anyone thinks xc Lycra boys are soft then this race would dispense with that myth.

Despite searing heat and savage climbs the vast majority of riders of both sexes from 16-65 were taking on the Olympic rock features like they were nothing. What a brutal day to select out the national champions.

The evil organisers even routed us UP a major bermed downhill section. Bad enough but then you went up again on grass then after a brief respite on a flat gravel corner, up again on grass. 20 seconds to compose yourself then time to huck off triple trouble!

Mega day. 16th Vet for me. Glad to be in one piece.

One amazing days racing at Hadleigh. In the intense heat it was brutally hard. 7th senior male for me.

Yep, great weekend!

Spotted it on the XCracer calendar after being given a ticket for a weekend away on my tod.

Havn't raced for about 10 years so signed up for the fun race that turned out to still be 3 laps!!!

Wasn't last and still had a good chase with a couple of guys ... brilliant!

Bit gutted they removed the first 2 rocky bits for fun and sport but I had convinced myself to do them in practice so content with that.

Great Venue and a cracking, brutal course that reminded me why I used to race.

Still on a bit of a "high" now so who knows maybe next year may give super vets a bash LOL!
