You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Ive just had a conversation with someone, who said they used to race in the area where I now live and that there is an event mid July with lots of top class riders etc going.
I've tried to find reference to it but details are sketchy to say the least.
Orange have got a link to it on their website as a demo weekend, but then at the same time one of the links no longer works.
This looks like where you can buy tickets?

That takes me back - I used to race at Nantmawr in the mid '90's and it was an interesting place at the time. would be curious to see what it's like to ride these days as it was closed to DH for many years IIRC.
Just realised it's the weekend I'm in the Yorkshire moors too, which is a real shame.

There is nothing there. You can see some of the old mtb stuff now mainly reclaimed by nature.
It’s been used for mx enduro the last few years and that’s it
im not convinced it’s going ahead. No one locally knows about it from what I can tell.
Supposedly Sam Hill is confirmed attending,

Takes me back as well, watching the DH, dual slalom, Freestyle Motocross jumps in the quarry, Dave Hemming bungee jumping off a crane, bombing down the steep chutes in the quarry. Good times.
Now if only they brought back the scousers track at Nannerch and held a race on that..
I've known about this for a while. It seems absolutely impossible to find any meaningful information about the event other than from instagram. They have no website and no central place to get event information from. We live in an age where you can get a good feel for whether an event is for you well in advance - and this one has none of that. The publicity appears to be pretty much drip fed to social media.
Not for me thanks, I like to know what I'm committing to for a weekend!
Last night I found some pics online of them trying to flatten out what would have been sections of the DH in the past that have been ripped to shreds by years of MX.
I will take the dog for a walk up there and see if there are any signs of life.
My money is on it just being someone's idea to make money and trying to turn it in to a thing by the power of social media...
Just spoken to the organiser, Sam Hill definitely in attendance, it’s costing a big ol chunk to put on, diggers currently working on a track (No canyon gap, sorry…) as I type.
Hes says get in touch with any enquiries, @retrobikesguy on insta, but a website will be live shortly, and Sam himself will be doing insta posts soon too.
The organiser has reached out to me too.
I genuinely hope they have every success with the event, and I hope it brings mtb'ing back to the quarry. Apparently a website will follow soon,
I did suggest he come here to share information.
Surely this would be easy to get on the front page of STW or Pinkbike? A quick interview with the organiser and an outline of the plans?
Organising it in secret is a bit odd. Everyone will have made plans by the time you make your announcement.
I don't know about organizing in secret? They've been posting loads on social media for a good while now, and posting on other Facebook groups etc. A website will give more legitimacy though.

Yep - height of summer with 6 weeks to go, most people will have already made plans, including myself !
It's obvious from this thread that the message isn't getting through. If I was the organiser I'd be trying to get my face out there well in advance of the event to lend it some credibility. I bet there's a podcast or YouTube channel they can get on.
