Camping with the family nearby this weekend, family ride on Saturday then hoping for an early solo blast round the black on Sunday - how long will it take?

Also is the cafe still open?

cheers

Cafe is shut until further notice, so is the visitor centre. Red kites are still being fed, though.

Not sure what you mean by "the black". There's the reaper which is a tech descent followed by a long slog back up. Totally depends on skills and fitness but can be quite quick, there's also the syfydrin which is a long, out there xc loop. Again depends on fitness. A couple of hours should do it going quickly, but can easily take longer

When I was there in June there was a coffee trailer with basic snacks in the car park. Top of Mark of Zorro was closed with fallen trees but a short diversion was badly sign posted around it.

As mentioned Syfydrin is a XC black and graded as such due to length and remoteness I'd say not technicality. It's a cracking ride out but most of it is not like that pic - there's sections (mainly shared with the other loops I think) but with large amounts of connecting double track and even a bit of tarmac from memory.

Anyone know if the EV charger is still there/working please?
Thanks in advance.

The black is basically the red (Summit trail) with a load of double track added in partway through. It’s a nice enough ride on a sunny day with some lovely views. Probably allow three hours unless you’re motoring (or motorised).

If you only want trail centre-type trails, just do a lap of the red followed by the blue if you want more. They each have a separate final descent to the car park which can be easily repeated by just riding back up the first fire road climb.

Shame to hear it's all shut down, I remember really enjoying the red Summit trail when I went a long time ago.
