I'm in mid Wales tomorrow morning, driving from Manchester to see family for lunch, so I've got a few hours to ride in the morning, I've never ridden Arian, I've done climach 10 years ago so no real memory of it. I appreciate they are not too far apart but won't have time to do both, I'm not expecting amazing just a few hours of fun? What's best? Is their anywhere I'm missing? Apart from degla and CDB ?
Thanks for any advice!!!

Nant-y for me , decent mix of trail centre and natural trails . Apart from the final decent on climax I didn't think much of the rest .

Nant for me as well. Especially the syfyddrin or whatever its called. Loved it. Done both and the climachx is OK but not brilliant

Did the syfriddin trail a couple of weeks ago, thought it was great.

ClimachX is good but I normally ride it when I am really pushed for time and just ride up the fireroad to the start of the finally descent. That gets you 80% of the good stuff in one quick hit. There are also tons of off piste trails in the area so if you want a longer ride without sticking to the marked trail there are lots of options. The off piste stuff seems to be well marked up on the Trailforks app (and probably Strava).

At Nant it easy to combine the Pendam and Summit routes. Just add the Western loop from the Summit trail to the Pendam. Not ridden the Ssfydrin route myself but note that it is not your usual trail centre fare - the large loop that is not the Summit route is all double track and road. That may or may not be a good thing depending what you are after.

Personally, if you are after trail centre type suff, I'd do combined Pendam and Summit at Nant, then drop in at the Climax to do the final descent if it's not out of your way.

I have not ridden Nant yr Arian but I would never ride the Climach trails again. I did them last year and found them mind numbingly boring. Miles of boring uphill with no good descents. It was a complete waste of a trip to wales. Nice views but that was about it. I had read some comments on here recommending them but I wish I had chosen something else.

Nant for sure. Really nice trails and summit with a bit of Pendam is a nice blast. The longer Syfydrin trail is actually really good, the double track is actually quite technical in places and fun to ride. There are some small road sections, but it's a really nice route - probably more fun to do the smaller loops though, and as above the cafe is good.

You must be talking about the Mach 1, 2, 3 waymarked(ish) XC trails? In which case I agree. However, the ClimachX trail is a completely different kettle of fish. The black-rated final decent was, up until the the likes of BPW came along, said to be the longest continuous single track descent in Wales.

Nothing closed at Nant as far as I know, I've been up there the last 3 days and ridden all of the trails in one form or another.

I did nant arian syfydrin last week and even though the weather was wet and visibility was 40 foot at best, it was stil one of the best trail centre rides I've done.

Once out into the stick of the longer route it does feel very remote and quite detached from a trail centre. With good weather I think the views would make it a much more memorable ride.

Was almost a shame to get back into the woods and does highlight the difference between man made woodsy trail centres and natural out in the middle of nowhere rides.

Thanks for all replies, started at 8am Saturday, car park empty and didn't see another person for the first 2 hours, really enjoyed the trail, obviously helped by warm dry sunny and somewhere I've never ridden before.
Will defo return one day.

Love Nant. The natural trails there that take you right round the back of the centre are great (cannot remember the name, we did it by mistake!). Some stunning views too if you scramble up a few of the hills next to the trails.
