new pain appears to have sprung up on today's ride, about an inch up and an inch to the left of the tail bone. Â a sort of knobbly bit of bone there, seems to be painful when I bend forwards now.
what is it and how do I get rid?
Louise a good name? 😉
Have you bruised your coccyx?
left something up there? baby robin?
that's the sacrum. the sacrum joins the pelvis via the sacroilliac joint or SI joint for short. S for sacrum and I for Illium (latin for pelvis). I really hope you haven't developed some sort SI pain 'cause it's horrendous. What else have you been doing other than cycling!?!? I sprained my SI ligaments a while ago, I believe it was caused by over doing things and not giving myself enough rest, my pelvis became tilted after sleeping twisted which led to it happening.
I thought this was going to be about French bread.

I'm getting over exactly this now with a physio. Â Some local dry needling once a week and a Pilates based "touch your toes' stretch 3 times a week to realign things.
ah ffs. Â yep I'm a bit lop sided. Â hurts twisting too. Â touching toes is still possible just uncomfortable. Â was making me want to sit down on the bike and stick my butt out curving lower spine to give some relief.
not really overdoing it. Â well maybe I'm trying a bit to hard on rides when I know I'm out of shape. Â oh and recently been upping the mileage on the tt bike to 50milers....
So what exercises are helping? Lots online...
