I'm using 2.25 Panaracer CG soft conditions, seem to be working well on my HT

Seriously though, I've heard Minion DHF's work well, seem like a nice deep tread.

A Nevegal 2.35 DTC with every second intermediate knob cut off isn't exactly good in mud, but it's not bad, unlike most large tyres.

Minion 2.35F is a good allround rear tyre but it's not very big.

I can't tell a difference between them and a 2.35 rampage. Slightly smaller than the intense 2.35 though (but intense 2.35's look bigger than a 2.5 on my dh bike)

A few modifications with an angle grinder, a welder, and some carbon fibre should see you right. 🙂

"Minion DHF's"
I thought Minion was the dry(ish) DH(ish) tyre?
High Roller being the middley/ Wet loamy one andScream/Swampthing etc being the wet ones?

Same sized wise I have thought you'd be better going for one for wetter conditions if you're going maxxis?

I run stouts on the 29er.
Weigh a ton, but grip like shit to a blanket.
Only tyre Ive run on the SS that picks up dirt and drops it on your calves as you pedal 😯

Swampy's an outright mud tyre... Not big, and pretty limited at anything that isn't mud in 60A. Draggy to boot.

Lots of people reckon the highroller's better in mud than the Minion but I'm unconvinced... Guess it depends a bit on how you ride, where you ride, etc... Minion seems to slide easier but better, highroller slides later but worse. But neither's a big tyre really until you get up to 2.5.

might stick to the high rollers as they provide quite abit of cushioning but thought they dragged abit in the mud ! maybe a ardent ? i'm trail riding most of the time

Run them at a low pressure. They were nasty on roots and rocks at 35psi but seem excellent at 20. I concede they are blooming slow on hardpack surfaces.

I'm running a 2.4 advantage at the minute, that's massive and seems to work ok so far, although struggled on some off camber stuff on Sunday. I normally run swampthings though.

I've got a 2.3 Conti Survivor on just now, borrowed from a mate so accident rather than design but it works well.

Ran super tacky swampthings last winter, ghetto tubeless single ply's front and rear, 2.3, about the same size as 2.3 Nevegal, brilliant in mud and on wet roots etc, hard work on hardpack

2.3, about the same size as 2.3 Nevegal

Not really... The knobs stick out to the side so corner to corner, it's pretty similiar- but the carcass is much smaller and that's what counts if you're looking for a cushion.

I'd go for a 2.25 maxxis Advantage over a nevegal in the mud. Almost as good as my spec. storm control.

Anyone tried a Schwalbe Space? Got one on display and looks like it'd be good in the mud, has a big volume too(quite happy with narrower mud tyres, so won't be experimenting for you) 🙂

I'm running a Conti Baron on the front and a Rubber Queen on the rear at the mo - both BC. Seems pretty good and very predictable even in proper filth. Wouldn't recommend the RQ on the front in proper gloop.

Ran Minion DHF 60a front and rear last winter, can recommend these too.
