scratching that Autumn itch. I'm thinking maybe a imported carbon frame then build up with some carbon rigids and 1x10 lightweight kit.

Any ideas for possible frames, forks or even a full bike and tweak from there?

Hi RG,sounds like we are both scratching the same itch.
For me it would be the Travers 29er+ Ti frame with their carbon fork, but you would be looking at around £1600!
How about the Stooge frame & forks at about £450 , steel so may be heavier than you want but getting good write ups.

Weenie as in small or light? I'd steer clear if off the peg steel if that's the case & stick to Chinese carbon, however if you''re more interested in an engaging ride and all day comfort with proper UK winter clearances look at Singular swift/Stooge etc

Chinese Carbon FTW. All the 'big' names do frames of a decent weight - Light Bicycle, Carbonal etc etc.

Some good threads on mtbr.
One chap built a sub 20lb Niner SIR.9, but obviously had deep pockets.
