Last year got some good advice on here about D of E expeds.
All went well, last year's bronze group are now doing silver, & are planning their exped for the summer, so are looking for some route suggestions in N Scotland. They're a fit bunch, but with a spectrum of cycling experience. They're keen to go somewhere off the beaten track. As last year we were wondering about Garve, Aultguish, Croik, Ullapool, but having ridden it again last weekend wonder if it will be a step too far - more the potential for kit failure - ie ripping arse out of trailers than physical ability.
So - anyone got any ideas for 3 day rides in N Scotland, on reasonable surfaces - ie not boulder strewn landrover tracks!
Cheers.
Drop the trailers. They're far too limiting and too heavy.
Other than that, you should be able to construct a good route around the Loch Laggan/Corrour area. What sort of distances are you looking at and dies it have to be a loop?
Think we are stuck with the trailers - they need to be self sufficient for the 2 nights. Last year they tried out panniers and universally voted for trailers. They are looking for something 55-100 miles - depending on the surfaces & route. It doesn't have to be a loop.
I did my gold d of e with trailers wild camping from pitlochry to Perth
