Shit the bed its good.
Accurate, very informative and straight to the point.
I like 😀
Shit the bed its good.
Photos.
Or it didnt happen 😉
My kind of review. Good stuff.
Shit the bed its good.
Solid or a bit runny?
can you melt things with it?
It's not perfect.
Helmet mount is a bit gash, but with a big of jiggering around it fits quite neatly directly onto my hex without the mount

Having to cycle through the off setting to go down a power level is annoying.
Strobe setting is too fast.
I'd like a smaller battery I could strap on the helmet.
I went out with my L&M Arc on the bars for a comparison. I turned them off after ten minutes.
The button setup's weird... Nice to be able to avoid strobe, but it could be up/down, hold to turn on/off as per the MJ872, best way to do it IMO.
Hi Jam bo, dont think anyone can beat that review in so few words! and everyone who has bought anything related to mtbbatteries.
I have tried to distance my self and be more professional as regards posting comments about my lights. I think its easier and better to let the users pass on their comments than me big them up.
The last few weeks I have had excellent reviews in the main biking magazines . shame it wasnt for the Lumenator but that time will come around. (thanks to fresh goods friday for their Lumenator review though)
It was one year ago next friday was when I decided to hand my notice in at work and start completely on my own - One hell of a decision, but easy one with the year I had had with my mum and dads health.. but bestest decision I have ever made in life.
Its been a big learning curve especially the last few weeks with supply and demand, especially as the Lights are the small part of my growing business - But just as important
Just trying to say thanks everyone who had bought anything mtbbatteries related really. had a couple of chill out beers and comments like Jam Bos, make me realise its been worth it.

The only reason I haven't bought one yet is the helmet mount... If anyone has a decent solution please let me know!
Helmet i use is a 661 recon and has a central ridge unlike your hex jam bo.
Jambo I have similar helmet, and still use the velcro straps more on the front than the top, have you tried?
with a bit more time i could probably have bodged it onto my L&M helmet mount which is excellent.
however all this took is a rolled up piece of the velcro under the front edge to sort the angle and it strapped right on. low profile, really stable and looks pretty neat to me.
smudge - when are they back in stock, ?
am after a new light in the next week or so
could you do a small battery pack? maybe enough for 2 hours at 70%? short lead?
would suit me perfectly.
as above... there needs to be a better way of attaching lights to helmets.
my Met something-or-other is a pain and in the depths of winter i'm more likely to be wearing a piss pot.
I think the helmet mount is similar to the DX ones isn't it..?
It looks it from the pics on smudge's site (and I'll know for sure in the next couple of days when my lumenator gets here 🙂 )
I just ripped off the velcro straps and cable tied the mount on.. looks gash but works a treat..
I can build anything battery wise... within reason.
Lights (Lumenators) UPS permitting are back in stock tomorrow.. 1 carton got mislaid coming over and they wouldnt release the others till it had caught up ( it was on the plane behind?) They are currently in East Midlands Airport ready for clearance.
Weekend is going to be spent catching up with the backlog, but rest assured by Monday we will be back on track and up to date.
V2's are in stock and shipped same day if ordered before 3pm (90% of the time)
I also stock the head straps if they are better?
As a side note, the dinotte helmet mounts work fantastically compared to the DX ones, swapped it out for my v2, light unit sits much lower and is a lot more stable. Used on a 661 recon, Giro Hex & Xen:

I have a light that fits similiarly, and modded a gopro mount to be, basically, a little handlebar. It's not cost effective if you don't already have a gopro, tbh, the mounts aren't cheap but if you do then it's fab.
@ smudge. There is another comment on stw this morning about "why Jedi is bigged up so much"
Well, IMO people like yourself, trout and Jedi et al putting a lot of effort in to reward the MTB community at large and I personally feel you should be advertised for your service in return. It's no hardship for us to write a few words to appreciate your efforts. Ok the cynics will say you are taking our cash but that's a pointless view - we all have to feed our families somehow.
I'm loving my Lumenator, it's a great product - a high power long lasting quality trail light at an everyday mans price point! Big up mtb batteries!
Got one its almost too bright so I stick it on half power so Im not dazzled.... amazing power
Mine is ordered. 😀
I've gone Trout Spidereyes!!
I was going to buy a KS lev, and either a Gloworm or lumenater, but after the MBR review I bought the ICE V8 dropper for £87, and splashed the spare cash on a piece of shed-born artwork!!
smudge
how much does the lumenator weigh?
cheers
Only just discovered the Luminator online, looks like a winner. My OH has just started biking and is loving night riding. Seems like a good excuse to hand over my old (but perfectly adequate) Lumicycles halogen twins and order this badboy. She's already sanctioned a new bike (Canyon Strive, on order) so she can have my meta.
