I didn't ever bother looking much at mine despite taking them off once a month to fly until I was lining up new brakes, amazing how they get thinner...

There was a thread on here a while back where a chap's rotor sheared off as he was riding 😯 prompted me to check & then get new rotors for my commuter. Never even thought about it before!

So my rear brake was squealing for a couple of rides, ignored and assumed it is "just a bit of contamination" until it started annoying people:

Usually the spring gets eaten by mine when they're that worn. Horrible shing-shing-shing noise ensues.

So this is how rotors turn into weapons that kill bike shoes and remove limbs in races? 😉

Sure, the thin bit is where it meets the arms of the spider- you can see there's a bit of a shoulder there (!). It actually widens out to a portly 0.9mm at the edges, although I'd prefer it if it was the other way round..

Yes, they do look a bit like that- it's annoying! Would love to be able to correct it..
