Thought I'd share a pic of the new beast, very happy indeed and can't wait to hit the trails later this week. On that note I'm just over 14 stone and was wondering what other 5 owners of a similar weight have their front/rear shocks set to? Also interested to know what others have their RP23 Pro Pedal set (1,2 or3?) and rebound rate.
I'll be riding around Peaslake Surrey, mostly singletrack with a few steep drops and wriggly stretches/jumps.

Hi Mate yep I ride around there on a Apple Green 5
around similar weight too!
Shock pressures. There are recommendations from fox which are around 35% sag
but i like many will tweak to suit the terrain you are on.
Rebound find a large kerb stone and when sitting on the bike go off the kerb stone
and set the rebound that its meant to support/return when you hit the ground.
To fast and the seat will hit you in the ass very quickly and to soft will give no support.
What number to set the pro pedal, well this is mainly used in climbing or riding on the flat
ground, so i mainly have this on 2 has sometimes forget to turn off going down on the descents

Why does it look like it was welded together by a five year old?? The finish of the welding is very poor.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments and feedback - 5 hours riding at Peaslake today and to say I am knackered is an understatement! Hooked up with a dude on a Tracer and we had good ride out...also had my first proper fall down the route with telegraph poles? Survived but ended up head first in a bush!

Bike Held up well, the guy in the shop set it at 115psi on the rear shock and 80psi on the front....will have a play at the weekend.

80psi seems to much but again upto the individual but for me that will be a pogo stick up front.

I'd have thought you'd need more pressure given the rider is 14st. I run around 75-80psi in a Fox 140 and I'm 3 stone lighter. Could have been a contributory factor if it was an over the bars incident.

115 psi in the rear don't sound right either. I suggest you read the Fox manual (on disk) which should have come with the bike and learn to set up the front and rear suspension yourself rather than rely on someone in a shop every time. You'll need a decent shock pump as well.

I'm just under 14 stone and run my 5 at 90 psi front, 200 psi rear. Don't forget to allow for your riding gear in the weight calcs as well.
