I bought this bike 9 months ago for £90. It's a Specialized P1.

On the day I picked it up our local (and amazing) indoor dirt jumps unexpectedly shut down for good.
So I stripped the frame and the paint, made it look presentable and it sat in the garage until this morning.

A few hours later, after some mileage and some big hills my lower back is killing me and my thighs are hollow, burned out shells.

Bunnyhops are limited to kerb size. I can barely pull the front end up so manuals aren't happening. No way I could take it to a track and clear any meaningful jumps. It feels tiny like a BMX. It has super twitchy handling and it rolls very fast.

I know that's all perfectly normal when coming from a full size proper bike but it's pretty depressing as I used to ride a bike like this all the time. Jumps and tracks and arsing around was my thing. I cleared 40 inches on our bunnyhop-o-meter.

It's much more frustrating to lose skills than to have never had them. I mean, one of my life's biggest regrets is that I'm not an amazing guitarist but I never tried because I was busy riding my bike. I really put the hours in learning to manual and boost big jumps and do 360's. And now it's just a memory.

Maybe I'll find some time to learn how to ride it. Maybe I'll leave it in the garage and let it gather dust. Maybe I should buy a guitar?

Don't be surprised if you see it up for sale in the new year. I at least have to get some track action first. Try and send my talentless ass over some biggish jumps.
