Fat, unmotivated, 4 weeks to go, haven't even built the bike yet. Bugger.

Do I....

A - spray the frame
B - do an hour on the turbo?

C - watch CX crash videos on YouTube. Well.... start with a CX video then just see where you end up

CX races are fun, nobody tries that hard,it's just a day out in a muddy field chatting to other like minded folk.

Let us know how it goes. 😈

Fun in a painful way I guess.

Nobody tries that hard though? Maybe in the fun races. Every other race everyone is on, and beyond the limit for the length of the race.

They are savage.

There may have been some irony in some of the above posts

Occasionally it gets hard so you just hop off and carry your bike over the tricky bits.

Or in my experience, wobble around & fall off.

Bike handling, for the most part, is an optional skill set.

most fun form of racing I have ever done.

I find it considerably easier than xc racing.

I'm getting very excited about this weekends race because its a course I've not ridden before, the strange thing is I'm most excited about a long set of stairs we get to run up. I'd love to know what went wrong in my formative years that I'm getting excited about going to a bike race where i can carry my bike 🙄
