I love my commute. It's just perfect in weather like this. Leisurely potter around the local lake on the steel singlespeed inbred with only a cormorant hunting for fish as company. Had to stop for a few minutes. Perfection.

Lovely. This morning was a joy it has to be said. Little wind, lovely morning sunrise, bit of mist, plenty of cycle commuters and walkers/runners about, even before 7am.

No pictures from this morning but it was like this. My offroad sections are mostly alongside a canal.

Can't wait for my ride in tomorrow. See if I can stop for long enough to take a couple of snaps.

Mine was lovely today although not as exciting as yours looks lads as on the way into the office it's far more B road than dirt trails. Was nice though i have to say.

Mine was pretty splendid this morning too. 12 miles off-road (mostly) on dry trails. A large portion of it is canal tow-path but it does include a nice, fast, rocky section of the Pennine Bridleway. The view this morning from the top of the moors was gorgeous. The best thing was not having to battle against massive headwinds on the big climb from the front door (evil enough without wind). Looking forward to the ride home.

I've been driving or getting the train for the last two weeks since I broke my collarbone. Hated it.

Today was the first day I've managed to ride in - did most of it along the canals and cyclepaths, not much on-road at all. It was glorious, a stunning morning. Saw loads of ducks and geese with their little duckles and gooses.

Passed within a couple of feet of a heron - there's a couple on that section of canal that are really quite tame, or at least so used to human presence that they don't fly off. And the sun shone and there was no mud.

My shoulder is probably not quite up to it yet but so what, it's nothing that some ibuprofen can't cure...

I say "hi" to a Buzzard on the same fence post most mornings which makes me smile. As does seeing the roe deer in the fields and watching a fox slinking across the road last week. I see more wild animals than cars on my commute (until I hit the town that is).
