I usually get to work and get in the lift with my bike, stop at the second floor to sign in and carry on to the forth floor, but as I was signing in, someone pressed the lift the lift button on the ground floor and the door closed, my bike must be pressing against the door or something cos it's now stuck on the second floor and won't move.

you have to pull the outer door then there are sliding lift doors, but I can't get the outer door open and we haven't got a key! got to ring the lift maintenance company and get them out. 😥

yeah other leave their bikes in their bikes in the basement, but I don't like leaving mine there because the front door never gets properly locked, and mine is better than the others, 🙂 so I take it up to my office and leave it a store room. I might have to start looking for a better lock now though............

You won't need a lock if you keep it in the lift

oh dear, I do the same (bike in store room) and if I were in your shoes I'd be expecting a memo/email going around later today reminding everyone bikes are not allowed inside.

😆 @ Paladin.

Yeah I reckon I'll not be allowed to take it up stairs now! 😥

OK, so why were you letting the side down and putting it in the lift? Everyone knows that the only way to get a bike into an office is to nonchalantly sling it over your shoulder and saunter up the stairs. Noone bats an eyelid…

Good luck though!

You should have Danny Lackaskilled it up the stairs. Fail.

Wonder what the call out charge for a lift engineer is?

Maybe ads will let us know later, when the invoice is kindly dropped on his desk for him to pay personally.

It's still in there!

Only reason I take it in the lift is because some people were letting there tyres rub the walls and leave marks all over them, which apparently makes the place look scruffy! 😉 I don't actually think that was me but you never know.

Think (hope) we get the call outs for free under a maintenance agreement, we'll see though.

We have a disabled lift at work that requires a key. Some staff (me) can use them if moving equipment. I left my keys in there last year and the door shut locking them in. Security still joke about it.

It must be a real hoot where you work.

I lost my dog in a lift once.

Used to live in a tower block, & quite often when taking him out late at night or early morning, I'd put the dog in the lift & send him down. Then I'd use the stairs & try & beat the lift down to the ground floor.

One day someone called the lift as it was on its way down... 🙂
Apparently the lift stopped, dog trotted out & a chap got in, but before he'd realised he'd pressed the button & the doors closed & the lift went on his merry way. Twas quite funny at the time.

I know it's not funny but this thread has brightened my day.

Was also thinking, best thing is to carry it up the stairs and ride down, it's what most sensible people would do.

Glad you got it back. I take it your bag with change of clothes wasn't in the lift with the bike? Embarrassing enough to have to wait around all day to get your bike back, even worse if you're in full MAMIL mode!
