....is soaked again.

Can anyone recommend decent waterproof baggies?

Or do they all grind away to bits from mud and grit?

Was thinking of Endura maybe,or Mavic

Altura Attacks for me, I know not everyone agrees but I've got 3 pairs, the oldest are pretty much worn out but they're years old, they've been fantastic. And just normal washing too, some waterproofs want handwashed, posh cleaners etc, useless for shorts really.

You could always be cool like me and get some mudguards.

recently bought a pair of the tenn ones. They are only £20 and first ride indicates they do the job well.

+1 on the Tenn ones. Mine seem to do the job well.

Prior to them, the Altura ones (Attack?) I had were good though like most the did eventually wear through.

If you're after something better quality than Endura/Altura then the Mavic ones are good, but my favourite are the Royal ones.

I know not quite what you asked, but Madison Addict with a waterproof arse are much nicer to wear, the new ones are a much better fit than the out going ones.

I only get the chopped up military trousers out if it's proper grim.

+3 on the Tenn ones. Nice not be fleeced for kit that works well.

The Race Face Ambush shorts were pretty water resistant until I washed them as per the instructions. Tried reproofing them too but no luck.

No waterproof shorts are going to last very long* if you grind mud and grit onto them. If I am going to use mine I fit mudguards too.

* unless someone designs a pair with tough nylon all the way up the arse - that'd work nicely. My Endura ones have a nylon bit but it's too small, requiring me to wear braces to keep the nylon bit in the right place.

Just got some sweet mudrides. Not used them yet but they look and feel pretty darn good.

-1 Tenn Protean rip at the rear seam after a handful of rides. First pair I had lasted six rides, second replacement pair four, both split at the seam in the exact same place.

I've had my Altura Attacks for donkeys years, the bum isn't as waterproof as it used to be but they're still going strong otherwise.

Might invest in another pair.

It's worth noting they are massive and its wise to size down.

The Altura Attacks don't have a belt and slide down

I see the new ones have 2 press-stud fasteners now - the one comes undone when straining

I found the Tenn Proteans were great while they lasted but as said above, they're not very robust. Maybe 10 rides?

Just taken delivery of some Madison Tempests - I have yet to wear them, but they seem much more robust for less than double the money...

Don't get altura attacks. My new ones are not in the slightest waterproof after 1 muddy ride.
