Afternoon all,

Very bored at work today. I guess i'm far too excited about my week in Tenerife from this Friday to be able to concentrate on anything work related....

I'm staying on the West Coast just to the north west of Adeje. I've never ridden abroad before. I plan to ride up Mt Teide via Vilaflor and back down via Chio which gives a nice 125k route with 3000m of ascent. I also plan a ride north to loop back via Masca which again is similar in length and ascent.

Are there any other routes in that area that you do over the two mentioned above? I plan to do some shorter rides on the other days.

Teide - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19130210
Masca - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19131172
Fun little hairpin climb route! - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19131389

Any other tips welcome. I canny wait!

Interested in this as I go there this year, the links don't work that you have posted, even after logging in.

I can't advise on any routes, but I went up to Vilaflor from Los Cristianos & found that my planned café stop was shut.

It was a good ride though - bloody hard work and that was without carrying on up to Teide.....

Take a layer/shell, it gets quite chilly as you climb especially if you are going all the way up.

I planned on coming back to Los Cristianos from Vilaflor via the TF21 - it looked like fun with all hairpins, but ended up going back the way I came.

I expected road riding there to be a bit hairy, but I had no issues and really enjoyed it.
