I got to thinking could it fit on a set of Bluto`s

Answer Yes had to open the ziptie holes a tad to take larger ties and apply a little heat to splay the sides ot a bit
and bingo lots of slop protection

Why not just use a front Mudhugger...

Cos the front mudhugger is too short and does not keep any off your legs those tyres can throw a huge amount of sh1t on to you and your bike

Does it not have horrendous toe overlap?

We cut a rear one down a bit as the std length catches on trail obstacles, does the job just as well, needs something out front to stop "blow back" though

Could a 26" one be used without trimming?

[quote=cynic-al ]29er raceguard?

Also work fine on the rear, though not being as close to the seat stays there's a bit more crap gets through. I guess you might be able to mod one for the front?
