Is anyone running a front race on the rear like Mudhugger show on the video here -

https://www.themudhugger.co.uk/collections/xc-trail/products/front-race-mudhugger

Looks a bit neater just wondering if its anywhere near as effective?

Have the rear and it is very effective but aesthetically most suited to night rides. I bet 20p mounting a front on the rear may save your shock and any linkages from some filth but not you, you will be plastered

Won't protect dropper post either like the full rear guard does.

Yes im running the front race on the rear

I wont protect the dropper or your back but that's not what i bought it for

It will protect the shock, rear linkage and basically the whole of the lower swingarm area (you get a big build up of crap here behind the motor on a Spesh Kenevo)

You do have to cut a notch out of it to allow the chain not to rub

Cheers everyone. Think I’ll just get the rear one and ride in the dark!

The rear one looks dog awful, but works brilliantly. Wouldn't be without it in the winter.

Is there nothing better out there yet? I've got a 29er it with Fox 34 that needs guards. While I've possibly seen better for the front, nothing comes close for the rear. Can't bring myself to use a mismatched pair - that would just be too ugly.

Jeez, I actually think the rear is one of the neater options out there, just goes to show, one mans meat and all that.

i didn’t buy it for its looks though, I bought it to protect my back, a job it excels at.

Tried my mudhugger on my 29 er for the first time last night.

Got a wet bum and a muddy back.

Same ride this morning on my full sus 26 with a crud catcher , dry bum and clean backpack.
