For a 29er front.

I’ve been impressed with a mudhugger on my other bike but it needs the extended section for 29er and the fixing method of the extension is a bit rubbish.

I’ve also heard the RRP is a little fragile.

Any other suggestions?

RRP are about to release a bolt on front guard, that's where my money will be going.

Seen that but don’t have compatible forks.

RRP - bit ugly but very effective! Mudhugger on the back to complete the anti-theft disfigurement though.

Mudhugger on the front with extender here on a 29 - works fine, doesn't look minging - actually quite decent. The rear mudhugger, with a 29er extension of course, however can kill at 20 paces it's that minging.

Zefal FM30 is also very good, seems to stand up to some abuse, and is cheaper than the MH.

The crud catcher XL front guard is really good imo. Seems that be on offer at Merlin too...

RRP at the front on my Winter 29er.

Mudhugger at the rear.

After some crashes, the front is still fine and at the back all ive managed to do is brake a couple of cable ties.👍

The seal shields on the RRP are pretty good so I chose it over the mud hugger. I do however, use mud hugger on the rear.

Crud Catcher XL, let's face it, mud guards all look horrendous, might as well run one that does a proper job.

Fitting is a doddle, no scratching or rubbing and no water or mud on my face.

RRP. The mudhugger is shyte in comparison.

Threw mine in the bine after the RRP turned up.

I much prefer the RRP, had mudhugger too but its quite narrow at the bottom and with wide tyres you do get spray out the sides. RRP is full width the whole way down.

Can't wait for the bolt on version, has a slightly more prenounced flare at the bottom which should make it more effective without the extra length.

What fork? If it’s Fox the screw on Syncros one is good.

It’s a pike 29. I think this has settled me on the RRP. Thanks.

The Rockguardz front is really good, durable and can ride without glasses in a lot of situations.

Think I have this model...

Checked out the Rockguardz page

^

Rock the Trend Buddy everyone will have one of these soon, they are changing the mountain bike experiance(sic)for the better!

Hmm, I’m always wary of big claims such as those. Call it skepticism. But then I looked further:

STYLIN! Function and form in perfect harmony, AND rocking the trend. That’s so full of win that I can barely imagine unwanted muddy invaders even daring to show face!
