Okay, so I know mudguards may not be deemed to be cool looking, but at this time of year on the daily commute they are a must have for me.
Have just fitted XL Racebaldes to my CX bike with 32mm tyres. The back one fits well and works like a dream, but the front one!! No amount of fiddling gets it to fit right. Even the LBS mechanic has failed. So I took the front one off and put a crud catcher on the downtube, Feet and lower legs got pi**ed wet through this morning.
Anyone had similar problems/found a solution?
Get a "CX" bike with proper mudguard mounts. Or a new LBS mechanic 😉
I've managed to bend/curve/bodge sks onto both disc equipped CX bikes I've had - proper guard tabs on both tho, I agree guards are a must for commuting so I only shortlisted frames that had tabs.
PDW are supposed to be a good, if pricey, option.
No guard tabs on bike -- didn't think about that at the time as have been okay with putting mudguards on road bike without tabs.
just going to look at PDW
