I think my commuting mudguards have finally finished. The front was flopping around alarmingly on the way home yesterday and it turns out the rivets holding the stays onto the guard have sheared and one of the stays has popped off the connector. I could possibly bodge them but they've done me several thousand miles so they don't really owe me anything.
So - what's good? The rear is a fairly standard fit I think but the front doesn't have the bolt at the fork crown (it's a carbon fork). The last set I drilled and cable tied but if there's a better option I'm open to it...
On my 2015ish Arkose I used regular SKS guards with 32c tyres. There was a vertical bolt in the fork crown so I just drilled the rivets on the front guard mount and removed it to bolt the guard upwards.
I did initially use crud racers when I was still switching between gravel and road tyres.
For its replacement I used SKS speedrockers and they were just as effective as the sKS and even easier to switch out than the crud racers and much more substantial.
My mk1 Arkose singlespeed has a bolt under the fork crown, my mk2 ArkoseX has a hole front to rear at top of the fork, both arecOE carbon forks. I dont use them though, the mk1 has SKS Speedrockers (works well with 38mm 700c tyres), the ArkoseX has some other plastic SKS guards (Veloflex?) which work well with 50mm 650b tyres.
Ah nice, thank you. Sounds like the Speedrockers might be worth a look (and checking if I have a vertical bolt hole, don't think I've ever looked tbf).
Tyres are 38mm 700c, maybe occasionally 40mm (but I'd probs take the guards off for those anyway).
Speedrockers on my gravel / commuter arkrose - they don't come off all year and have been faultless for 1500 miles last year. 40mm / 700c tyres on there.

Im struggling to upload pics but i managed to take a good amount of paint off in the inside of my mk1 carbon forks, after running 40mm x 700c tubeles WTB Nano's (from memory they came up @ 43mm). As mine is a singlespeed it was used in the worse of the winter gloop, and lack of clearance meant no guards.
Changed to 38mm Gravel Kings, which provide better clearance. Benefit of the Speedrockers is that they dont need to go under the fork, but still give decent coverage.
Speedrockers are ordered. So if it dries up soon, you're welcome.
Mine is mostly a commuter so it's got 38mm Schwalbe Marathon Pluses (that are 8 years old and still going strong which is a bit mad) to avoid punctures. They should be grand with the Speedrockers hopefully.
I've also got a pair of G-Ones which make it feel like a different bike, but only go on for 'nice' rides (which don't happen that often, sadly).
