Bit lost using google, Only seem to be able to find guards that will fit ~38c tyres.
They will be going on a Sonder Camino.

Thanks in advance for any pointers 🙂

53mm Bluemels, fitted here on WTB nano 700x40, bit of a faff to fit, but lightweight, sturdy and give great coverage from winter road slop and offroad filth

Bluemels go up to 65mm I think; I used these but didn't find them particularly stiff, having a tendency to hit the tyres when things go a bit bumpy.

I’ve got cheapo Evans FWE ones on mine, sold as for 26” wheels but work fine for 650b Horizons and for 700c G One. Not the sturdiest looking but I’m on my 2nd winter with them fitted.

What are the tyres? If nobbly you need a bit more clearance. Also, are you planning to use the bike on semi off road conditions (fire roads, canal paths etc) with the guards on - imo you need a larger gap if that is the case otherwise it'll clog up.

Bluemels are the default choice in larger sizes but are not brilliant imo - not even the best SKS guard - just the only one they do in the right size. Currently using velo orange 'fenders' on a bike with 35mm G-ones and think they are brilliant (if a bit heavier) but don't do all their larger sizes in black - just polished silver finish. They do a 52mm 'Zeppelin' in black that takes tyres up to 42mm if that is any good to you. Personally struggle with polished silver guards from an aesthetic perspective (this makes me sad).

650b with WTB Byways on at the moment but looking at something a little bit knobbier for the winter (maybe Donnelly Xplor) for some extra purchase as very chalk/clay around here. I also have some narrow 29er wheels which I'm tempted to run some 40c-45c tyres on as these seem easier to find in 700c flavour.
Didn't notice that the Bluemels went up to 63mm, will give tham a look, any other suggestions also welcome 🙂

I've just taken a punt on SKS Velo Cross 55 guards and optional stay. Up to 52c it says, or there is a 29er version if you need bigger.
Not as much coverage as Bluemels but should be fine solo, especially with 1x. They use a rubber band to attach to the seat tube which should hopefully mean fitting and removing can be done without removing wheels.

I think you’ll struggle to fit 63mm bluemels if you have the standard Camino fork. My 53mm bluemels only just fit and will probably leave marks when I remove them come spring.

Saw the SKS Velo on youtube yest and like the look of them. Guess it might be a bit of trial and error then to see what works best, perhaps the Bluemel can be modified a bit to fit in the fork better?

I have a set of SKS Velo and the coverage is poor compared to the bluemels. You may be able to fit 63mm bluemels if you cut 5mm off each side where they pass through the fork.

Think I'll give the 53mm Bluemels a go for now and see how it goes, can always file a bit off to clear the forks.

I've fitted the Velos but haven't tested them in anger (it amazingly dry here anyway).
I don't expect they will be as good as Bluemels but should be good for keeping me cleaning and dry.
The clip to the seat tube stood off too far, hitting the tyre, so chopped it off and dremelled some slots for an o ring. Big issue on the RAG+ (and would be for any full guards) was the seatstay bridge which is far too close to the tyre (40c so not even to the 45c max). In the end I ran it over the bridge a secured with a velcro strap.

Well that's a bit annoying, just realised there aren't any bosses on the carbon forks! The Bluemel mounted on the back works well and stays put so far, great coverage on 47c tyre, would have no issues with slightly wider tyres which is good news.
