how would you fit a mudguard to a jones truss fork?
use one of those with a expanding bolt thing that fits up inside the steerer?
any ideas appreciated

This shows a Jones bike with a "proper" mudguard, why not ask them what is is Ton?
I use a cork and a woodscrew through an old rear guard, jams into the steerer firmly but would pull out if it got jammed. The forward horizontal support of the truss gets a zip tie loop to hold it firm -

Would work with a longer guard that had a stay by using a p-clip lower down the fork leg.
perfect gents, thanks for the replies, jameso wins 😀
jameso wins
easily 🙂
🙂
Frame arrived 2 weeks before the wheels were ready, I had time to faff with stuff like that..
Jameso - what's the max width tyre you've ran under the Crud?
I've just 'placed' a Crudder and the sides and front are close to a Chronicle
Wondering if trimming the guard will reduce its strength too much?
2.4 Ardent on a 30mm rim, plenty of space. Not used an 3" tyre on it. I used a rear Cycra guard, maybe a bit wider than the crud guard. They can be reshaped a little with a hairdryer if you're careful and have something to form it over.
Looks good but never had a problem with a crud catcher on the downtube. Thought that was what the bolts were for?
also feasible to fit a little guard across the forks, to stop the spray that gets thrown up along the tyre and then towards your face. there are pre-made ones or an inner tube will do the task equally well..
Just txt youa pic of my mates fathugger in situ
TBF, the Crudder on the DT I have been using seems to work fine, there's just not really enough room for a 3" tyre with the front Crud ala Jameso

I trimmed the rear of mine to clear my foot, how's the clearance on the plus?
I'd be tempted to trim the front of that one to style it a bit, get rid of the indent and blunt front edge. Sad I know..
Oh and I found that amalgamating rubber tape on the front spar is useful, the zip-tie grips it well and it's less rattly-scratchy.
Ah, will do those
I was thinking any less on the front might allow face splatter (Course most comes up from the rear, but....)
Haven't tried pedaling it to check for feet clearance 😳
