Is there a rear light that bolts on where the reflector is on esge/sks road mudguards? Battery powered as I'm not going to the expense of getting a dynamo setup.
Thanks for any ideas,
Paul.
This any good?

No experience myself, but tempted to try one.
Thanks - that is spot on. I'd already been on SJS and only found the dynamo version. Must try harder!
Cheers.
Ooooh , I like that !

And the PDW Fenderbot
Not pretty but I've glued a cheap LED to the mudguard with sealant. You just need on which has no switches on the back.
The PDW Fenderbot is currently available from Sport Pursuit for only £7.99 plus P&P.

I would have expected the B&M Secula Plus to be a better product, but it has received some very negative reviews on Rose Bikes regarding the poor switch design (possibly a result of the unit being designed originally as a dynamo light, rather than as a battery light).

EDIT The reviews are in German apart from one in English saying the same thing, but you probably don't need Google Translate to work out what this means: "das Ein / Ausschalten ist eine Katastrophe!"
The PDW is also good because it has a built-in reflector, something most ordinary tail-lights do not.
Rude not to at that price, ta!
According to rose's translator, one reviewer claims the batteries 'fluppen out repeatedly'.
And no one wants that.
I normally find B&M stuff pretty good.
Pdw is a bit weedy in it's output and adds weight to the mudguard which can shake it a little
Pdw is a bit weedy in it's output
Agreed. My own plan is to combine it with a more powerful rear light on the seatpost, partly as a belt and braces approach, but also because I've read that having more than one point source of light makes it easier for drivers to estimate how near they are to you.
and adds weight to the mudguard which can shake it a little
I haven't noticed any problem having fitted it to a SKS P35 mudguard with the standard mudguard stays.
I've ordered the B&M one already from SJS so I can report back once I have tried it out.
It's weird how German folk just expect things to work out of the box - where's the fun in that!
