Going away next month and not sure if there's somewhere to stash my muddy bike.
What cunning indoor storage solution do you use?

Can you get an old shower curtain (fold in half longwise and sort of sew/clamp the ends up)
and use it as a sort of envelope with the bike sat in it (*other waterproofish materials are available, e.g heavier duty plastic sheeting, large car cover, patio furniture cover etc)

Large bike bag

Small rag, coz when you lean the bars against the wall you can stop them marking it.

This is why I always try to book places with bike storage, just not worth the hassle trying to keep a muddy bike inside.

Get some bike boxes from your LBS and use them to line whatever space you end up ramming the bike into.

Option 1 - clean the chain with wet-wipes and brush off the worst

Option 2 - above and quick wash

Option 3 - old sheets/duvet cover to stand on and one over the top

I spent 18m working away from ho,me and found a friendly hotel and choose my room that worked with a bike.

Last summer we went to Switzerland and they lived outside, I was told no one steals things in Switzerland 🙂

I used a cheapo (CRC I think?) zip up soft bike bag throughout University. Wouldn't close up without bars off but used to zip it round the stem, any mud would dry up and collect as dust in the bag, just shake it out empty outside every so often. Turns a 'bike' which is not allowed inside, into 'luggage' which no one can complain about.

(works on a train too!)

I've used a clear plastic mattress bag before now, and worked just fine. It was going in the bin anyway, so didn't create any extra waste, and rolled up pretty small.

Obviously relies on you or someone you know buying a large mattress in the near future though!
