They are expensive but cheaper alternatives which are lighter and hold up very well to UK mud and grime are available (KCNC, Mt Zoom, Aerozine to name a few). You may mock, but the holes do seem to clear mud better
Chep ens on theebay, owt over a tenner for jockey wheels is a joke!
I think the point is they have better bearings and actual seals on the outside (looks like alloy covers with O'rings?).
Maybe not worth it for an average ride, but for a CX race bike I imagine that jockey wheels that don't clog with mud and grass, seize and can be jetwashed with impunity are a brilliant idea.
And look a the tooth profiles, looks like they's shed mud quickly through those diagonal teeth, rather than the square teeth on any others I've seen.
Expensive, but they've put a lot of thought into them for a specific niche.
