I have not ever used Crud Catchers in the down tube of my bikes, but fancy the look of the fork mounted Mucky Nutz or similar.

So....how do they compare in comparison to the crud?

I prefer the look of my bike without the crud on the down tube but will only change if the fork mounted option works.

Additionally, does the XL version notably stop muck being thrown forward and up?

Thanks again.

xl does seem to stop a lot of crap being thrown in my face compared to the standard one.

Xl on my trail bike regular on the dh bike. Both good. I've folded the very end (7mm) of my xl down to catch extra like the additions they sell for the Marsh guard.

The crud will keep you clean from the chest down, the muckynuts does a good job of keeping crap out of your face but not off your clothes.

I have both the standard and XL muckynuts, the XL is definitely more effective.

For ultimate protection, use a crudcatcher with an XL muckynuts.
