Delightfully* related to my barn door bike rack post....

I clean my bike every now and then, but it could always be cleaner. So the muc off pressure washer, is it worth it at all!?

And snow foam, just snake oil!? Does it actually do anything that normal soap doesn't? Or does it just look good for a tik tok and the like?

*Should read "slightly" but I prefer the predictive text version!

Fwiw, my Karcher K4 is perfectly fine to use on the bike as it has a very variable range of power. It's also better on the patio than the MucOff version.

I quite like playing with snow foam. Still needs a proper rub over. Not sure it's quicker or better than a bucket of soapy water.

Last week I brought my muddy bike home on the dirty bike rack attached to my filthy car, and snowfoamed the lot. The toddler next door thought it looked great fun.

Snow foam's value is debatable on cars (I'm in the camp the thinks on a really dirty car it's a useful way of getting a layer of dirt off before a touch-wash, and a second foaming after rinsing off the first to act as a lubrication for that wash). Not sure about on a bike though, I wouldn't be so concerned about swirl marks on the clear coat as I am on a car. It also doesn't actually shift a huge amount of dirt unless you use a very acidic or alkaline version but not sure I'd want to do that either on a bike. Snow foam's also most effective if you have a ceramic or wax coating applied already, something else that probably isn't likely on a bike.

Not really a fan of anything mucoff do. I take my hyrdoshot with me and rinse the bike after the ride to get the worst off while it's still soft. Then wash at home with normal garden hose pressure. That way, nothing should have hardened on enough to need snow foam. Plus it gives me more control over where the detergent goes.

We use Oxford Mint which is less harsh on annodising etc than Muc-off, but also seems brilliant. I bought a snow-foam bottle from a company called Mesto after reading lots of reviews. I bought a cheapo one from Ebay before that but it was useless and went in the bin lol. Not all spray bottles 'foam' it seems.

For me the foaming is left on for 5 mins after the ride and is better arguably when on a dry bike as it sticks more. It's then hosed off unless really gloopy and it's brushed with a soft brush.

Obviously there are days when this is multiple times in a day but generally it's at the end of the ride if possible.

I bought a Karcher K2 horizontal for £54 on Amazon, a stubby gun adaptor is about £15, and similar for a foam cannon. The K2 comes with a 5 year warranty and countless easy to find spares and accessories.

When on offer the Muc Off can be as cheap as that but will you be able to fix it or get spares in the future?

I got the muc off washer as a birthday present last year. It's alright, but i just use the hose pipe with a nozzle attachment on the bike. I use the pressure washer on the van more.

i use the the snowfoam gun with bike wash as a method to cover the bike with soapy water,

then brush it off.

What Fuzzy and Onza say is the correct answer. Most MucOff stuff is overpriced garbage IMO.
