Christmas lethargy kicking in and in need of inspiration/further viewing...
Anyone worth watching other than Askrigg/Danny mac, guykes and bkxc?
I personally really like PinnedTV
Nate Hills
Singletrack Sampler
Seth’s bike hacks
Paul the Punter
Skills with Phil
Loam Ranger
Ben Cathro
BKXC
Great will check those out thanks...
Not a fan of the vlog format but Seth's bine hacks does have some good videos though as an exception to the rule.
BCPOV
Not forgetting McTrail Rider. He's putting up some really nice vids from Spain right now :o) Also has a huge back catalogue of content shot in Scotland.
Pinned TV is fine on mute.
Sam Pilgrim (MTB/DJ/Street), Ali Clarkson (Street, some MTB, talking), Fabio Wibmer (MTB/DJ/Street)
Ben Cathro is really good.

That.
I don't watch much MTB on YouTube but he has a really "honest" attitude and is both enthusiastic and entertaining. His action camera review was a goody.

Me if you like slow boring vids 🙁
No front brakes (uses a prosthetic hand)

Bcpov
Dave Jenvey for his sheer determination to succeed.
Dave Jenvey, proper car crash stuff, and a childlike honesty that's very endearing.
Met him at ard rock, a very nice lad.

I now know what I'll be doing tomorrow!
I've made a few videos guys! Check mine out YouTube.com/ramsaymacfarlane
Always aiming to do more 🙄😂
Not on YouTube, but Grizzly Munro Diaries is worth following on Facebook. If only for the scenery.

Dudes of hazzard?
Biking with Bobo makes me laugh but don't watch if you are offended by bad language.
District Mountain Biker on YouTube has done some good vids, there's only a few on his channel but they are well produced IMO
Global Mountain Bike Network?
If you like watching mechanical things being made you can lose the best part of a day going through the YouTube series of building a replica Antikythera.

So many decent ones out there, shame there’s not more decent UK based ones (although Brian BKXC did a two week trip here, with Guy Kesteven - also has a decent channel - earlier this year)
Yep, agreed.
50to01
McTrailrider because he rides the kind of trails I like and in a way I would like to ride them...
Ben Cathro because he knows his shizzle
Clive Forth on skills because he makes the most sense to me

🙁 that hits me right in the heart that does ha ha ha
Other than ones already mentioned like Sam Pilgrim and Ben Cathro

Work your way through Pinkbike’s videos inside the tape and the field tests were good but best of all was the privateer.
Notable mentions for Jeff Kendall-weed, IHFT films/Matt and Jason (not all mtb related but those that are, are well worth a watch), Tom Cardy, Cam McCaul, Duncan Shaw, Ben Deakin and Dudes of Hazzard
I don’t think 2 of my favourites have been mentioned yet.
Syd and Macky , & Jeff Kendall Weed.
+1 for those Privateer vids.
Cathro is top of the shop for me, always interesting and never posts filler or clickbait. He's gonna go a long way in media, if there's any justice.
Will Greenfield puts out some entertaining vids.
Rob Warner meets was a great redbull production and shows himself to be just a great bloke and has some cracking guests .
Cathro is just brilliant
Others can become very repetitive but if you want to sink your teeth into some of the best riding and filming go to vimeo and look and Barry godding.start of with the Isle of Skye one and then Iceland trips .simple stunning
Privateer, great vids, showing you can make it from a relative nobody to a somebody.... He was quite humble in the vids too and a long way from the pretentiousness you seem to see about on Youtube and society on the whole at times.
Anything on here is a blast to watch.
Others can become very repetitive
It's a bit of a Catch 22 situation I think.
People trying to make a career out of being a "YouTuber" end up having to feed the beast with regular content in order to maintain revenue, which almost inevitably leads to filler.
It's a bit different for pro set-ups like GMBN, who can take a more magazine-like approach and target content at different parts of their audience. Though they still churn out some right crap, obvs.
That's why we all love Cathro, as well as being a very likeable, knowldgable and funny guy - he only makes videos when he has something to say - and his skills training business is very likely the main part of his income.
Others can become very repetitive
I think it depends hugely on the youtuber's personality. Take BKXC for instance, he pretty much just does POV videos, OK he's often in places with stunning scenery and riding, which helps, but he's also engaging, funny, seems likeable and finds interesting things to say.
They can be repetitive AND good, of course nickc.
Do you watch all his vids or just the ones that jump out at you?
Cha****ng, there's some (like Loam Ranger and BKXC) that I've probably watched all of their output. I mostly stick them on when I'm cooking, so they play on the background rather than regular telly
I’ve met and ridden with BKXC and he is a really sound bloke, funny, chatty, down to earth and a decent rider.
Some of his content appeals more than other but it’s usually interesting. By his own admission the Tibet trip he recently did had uninspiring riding but as a travel vlog, it was entertaining throughout (to me, anyway)
A lot of it comes down to how they are on film and the editing. I'm pretty boring, mono tone and generally uninteresting and can't edit for shit that coupled with slow riding doesn't help my videos ha ha ha ha.
Ben Deakin
Really enjoyed watching the road to redbull rampage vid.
I find Deaks very entertaining but do wonder if he hasn’t created a rod for his own back with the oioi! thing...
Disclaimer - if I saw him out and about I’d almost certainly shout it at him 😂
Baskett case (Sam Baskett)
Ben Deakin
Seths bike hack's
GMBN and GMBN Tech for fixing the bike is great.
Dave Jenvey - what a legend
Sam Pilgrim
Vital Mtb
I have watched some of these and really enjoyed most. I did pick ones from areas I thought I was familiar with but failed to recognise trails I should have known. I think it must be viewing at twice the speed I proceed down them makes them unrecognisable!
I find Deaks very entertaining but do wonder if he hasn’t created a rod for his own back with the oioi! thing…
Yeah does look that way. Oh and trolling amateur races, by copying the pissed up (smashing beer cans with your head) megaphone heckling style so popular across the pond.
Surprised no one has mentioned NATE HILLS 'Followcam friday'.
Amazing trails, for your retirement bucket list!

I like mctrail rider , bkxc and bcpov . Will pick and choose from Seth and gmbn as not all of it appeals .
Fair play to bkxc he seems to of got a pretty cool lifestyle out of POV videos although that Tibet trip I wasn’t so sure about , an amazing place to visit I’m sure but the riding looked A bit like rides I’ve done in Scotland where ive got lost and ended up in a field 🙂
Marker down for later. Dave Jenvey worries me!
Jeff Kendall-weed is pretty good. Great rider.
Another vote for Ben Cathro. Plus, Scotty Laughland (A chum's son but a cracking rider).
I've been watching Pat Smage a bit since I posted a video of him a while back. I only tend to watch his MTB stuff but he also does motorcycle trials and RC crawling too.
