how does everyone store their tyres? i've got a pretty small shed, but a mountain of tyres (mostly folding). what is the best way to store them to save space? show me some ideas

i've previously hung them unfolded from a brush-shaft between rafters, but i don't have the height now. i've tried folding them up and cable tieing them folded and this is currently how i operate

Folded and given a wrap of electrical tape.
Keep them in those folding plastic crates (currently got 5 full!)

Fold in half then half again and wrap something round them. Adjust so the layers all lay flat against one another in a crescent shape then you can lay others alongside.

Turn them inside out. Roll them up and secure with light coloured insulation tape. Use a marker pen to label the tape as it's near impossible to work out which one is your 29*2.4 fast xc tyre :). Stack them into a bag for life.

All ours are folded in two and then rolled so we can see the tyre size

Mine are unfolded laid flat on a wallpapering table in the loft, I don't like leaving them folded up, I know it's perfectly okay to leave them folded for ages, but it's just what I do.
Space saving cos they're not in the shed, outside the box thinking 🤔😁.

Wow @tracey that's superb. Mine are all in garage loft space fully round.

Well apart from the 4 on spare DH wheels and the emergency spare just in case spare.

I don't think a Michelin DH 22 would fold like that though

The tyres are Blck Dmnd casing so are the toughest they make. The new Grid Gravity roll up just as easy. Makes for easy storage in the camper as you can stack them on top of each other. We have two stacks of four and they take up very little room under the bed

It's always a good idea to keep spare rubber under the bed, for safety reasons.

I think the question you should be asking is:

"How do I get rid of all these tyres I don't really need?" 😂

I've a pair of Specialized Chunder 26" tyres that have been very lightly used that are laying in the garage. They were horrid 10+ years ago and can't see me ever using again, yet I keep them. 🤷‍♂️

Curse of a double garage. If space was more limited then they'd be gone by now 😆

I do the foldy uppy thing but then chuck em in a rubble sack. UV deteriorates the rubber - keep them in the dark

All the general "might need it one day" spares are just thrown up into the workshop roof space all the spares that are going to be needed are folded up and hung off hooks or kept in the van.

Unfolded on a bike wall holder. Got studded tyres I've had for 12 years that are still fine. - Used each winter.

My last two I've thrown out the back door of the garage to keep for later, once the sealant has dried out a bit.

I roll them up, tape them and chuck them in a Gorilla tub in the the shed, CX tyres live in a stakkabox.
