As per title, I'm keen to ditch the rucksack for short local rides but don't have a bottle cage mount (damn ibis).

Anyone have any recommendations for storage bibs? Found a good deal on the Fox Evolutions but they have no reviews.

Cheers

I've got a pair of Specialized SWAT shorts that I use for local rides and get on with them. I use to stick one of those collapsible water bottles in the back pocket but have since stuck a bottle cage on the bike.

Chainreaction are selling the Nukeproof shorts for £40 that have a couple of pockets on the back and side of the legs.

For the same reason, I've recently purchased a Bontrager Rapid (hip pack) bum bag and its bloody brilliant. Several friends have now ordered them after seeing them in action. Got mine for £40 from Triton Cycles.

SWAT shorts here, brilliant things, I use the Morvelo soft bottles with them. Combined with a Specialized bike with SWAT storage I haven’t used a pack for two years.

Cheers all, I had actually considered the Bonty pack, but a riding buddy swears by some bibs as his gear won't swing about.

If I can find one to try on I might give it a go, otherwise it looks like I should hunt down some SWATs then.

I've got a pair of 7idp Hydro bibs, with impact protection - review on my blog here

I have been using Specialised SWAT bibs for the past 2-3 years, they are excellent, the newer ones have taller, tigher pockets which makes a big difference. I have been considering the Bontrager Troslo bibs next though.

Raceface do one too. The pockets are handy and the ability to store a Camelback is great - as long as you don't need to re-fill it during a ride 🙂

Another vote for the SWAT bibs. I love mine - I've had them since they launched and they're my favourite single bike product.

Thanks all, off to see if the local dealer has any in tomorrow! Failing that, found some discounted pearl izumi ones which look like they'll also do a good job
