I've lost quite a bit of weight (about 20kgs over a year, helped a lot lately by Zwifting during lockdown đŸ™‚ ) so all my MTB clothes are now ridiculously too big for me. #humblebrag

I have a decent collection of Endura Singletrack stuff, Humvee 3/4 shorts, some MT500 stuff, Fox Indicator tops - so that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. I'd also like a recommendation for lightweight knee and elbow pads, as my VPD airs are also now similarly comically large and fall off.

Criteria
- Knee pads have to work well with the shorts
- Decent padded liner recommendation - I have bibs for gravel and zwifting, but if there's a lighter lining that goes well with the short you recommend, then please let me know
- Some bright colours (I've been looking at POC Resistance shorts, but they're only black - which is a shame). Doesn't have to be fluo stuff, but not black would be better.

Any thoughts?

I like the fox ranger stuff, I use the shorts, gloves and about to order a couple of jerseys. There's a good mix of colours too.

For kneepads I use IXS carve+ evo pads, they're comfy for hours of pedaling but have a proper d30 pad.

You wont go far wrong with the Madison kit. It can usually be found with some good discounts.
For lightweight pads have a look a GForm. Served us well for quite some time. Had quite a few crashes over the years and did what they are supposed to do.

Thanks both. Not sure about the Madison stuff, just because I'm in France and I'm not sure anywhere has it, but will look at both those recommendations.

The nukeproof blackline tops and shorts are nice, Troy Lee skyline shorts are good too.

Just got some Troy Lee flowline shorts and tech tee shirts, comfy nicely fitting shorts, but only have two large pockets. Nice comfy tee shirts, I got medium instead of my usual large and they fit great, cheap at Merlin.

The lads all have a couple of Scott shorts, tops and liners. I'm impressed by the quality - really nicely cut and lack of 'just because' pockets or features. They've got some small details I think are missing off our Endura and Madison gear - eg a little dart cut into the bottom hem of shorts, meaning more flexibility as they move as your pedalling.

If you like bright, eldest has just had one of these arrive, it's rather 'unique' https://hazzardemporium.com/product-category/jersey/

Usually wear Madison shorts, but got a pair of Fox Ranger last week, not really impressed tbh, the open fly is a bit odd, it's not even big enough to get yer chap out, but open to the air (fine in this weather, january not so much!.

I'm in same boat, lost 25kg, all my biking tops that were just a tad slack for pads below are bloody mahoosive now.

Shorts - Madison Zenith or Nukeproof Nirvana are my faves, both on the longer side.

Knee pads - IXS Flow Evo+

Elbows - The most important thing is getting ones that stay on your elbows and don't end up on your wrists halfway through each descent. Dakine Slayer have been the best for me in that regard.

Dakine kit is well made and well priced in my experience.  Plenty of choice of colours too from mild to wild.

My boys have used G-Form pads and they have done them well to be fair.

I use Race Face kneepads as their sizing seems to suit the shape of my legs (big calves and bigger quads). I use their super lightweight Charge pads for XC/Trail rides and their Indy pads for when things are going to be a bit more consequential and a bit less pedally.

Never had an issue with that myself, I do always wear either the fox liner/chamois or bib shorts underneath.
