I've been invited by a mate up to the Yorkshire Cycle Hub this weekend as a bit of a last minute weekend away.

I think the plan is a road ride on the Saturday and a mtb ride on the Sunday. I've come up with a 40-ish mile road loop for the Sat, but was wondering if anyone has any decent routes they could share for an mtb ride on the Sunday.

Ideally nothing too techy as the two people I'm going with aren't really mountain bikers - they're hiring mtbs for the day. Something around 3-4hrs in length.

Or should we just drive to Dalby and be done with it? I've not been to Dalby before, but when travelling to such a picturesque part of the country, this option seems to be a bit of a cop-out.

I'll be using my Elemnt Bolt for the navigation side of things....

The Cycle Hub might have maps and would be able to advise on routes I would have thought.

Bridleways and tracks round the Fryup skyline and down to Glaisdale are non-tech and make a nice round.or up to Beacon Hill and down to Scaling Dam and back via Greenhouses. Tend to ride these on xbike up from the coast. But they'll have routes at the place.

Thanks for the replies - yeah, I think I might contact the cycle hub & see if they have any routes available. Ideally I'd like something I can just stick on my gps.

My mate has only really ridden at trail centres & I don't think he quite realises how different it will be navigating 'in the wild' and I don't really have time before the weekend to investigate & put a proper loop together, so was hoping for a simple (lazy) solution. :o)

If you were going to do a trail centre I'd say give Guisborough a go, and the trails behind Roseberry Topping. It's compact enough you can just ride around and see what's good.
