I was just going through the large numbe of tyres I seem to have collected and am about to throw some away as I can't see a point in hanging onto they as they are worn.
I have entered the palace to palace for charity this year as a fun ride. It's 45 miles all on road and wondered if it's worth holding onto a set of warn tyres to swap over to use on the ride rather than my current high rollers. The problem being I would need to run tubes on the old tyres and go through the hassle of saving the stand fluid etc.
So the question is if you knew you where going to ride on the road for 45miles would you bother swapping to old tyres to save the ones you have as well as provide less rolling resistance.
It's about 3 hours of cycling. Why bother changing tires for that length of time?
mountain bike for mountain
road bike for road
simple really
Thanks tyres in the bin and only having the one bike will leave the current tyres on and increase PSI.
