Heading to Budapest with work and as normal I'm looking to ride the day I arrive. Does anyone have any local knowledge for decent MTB hire or trail recommendations? Anything within a 2 hour drive of Budapest considered.

We did a World Cup MTB race there in 1997 - was quite a weird youth camp sort of place up the hill to the west of the city. The youth pioneer narrow gauge railway ran up to it. You could probably explore round there if feeling brave..... Also looks like there is a nuclear reactor next door! It is the area around the Csilleberc station (from memory the race start / finish was at the oval running track and went into the woods north and west.
