You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Possibly going to be spending a few weeks in Brighton next year....is there anything rideable from the town or will I need to drive?
Also either way which are the most "must do's" around there?
Not DH but I'll have go at pretty much anything else.
Appreciate any info, cheers
Stanmer park, or pick up South downs way from Devils Dyke, just aim for Eastbourne and turn back when your tired, you can get train back from Lewes or Eastbourne.
There are lots of little gems near Brighton. A few places worth mentioning are:
Stanmer Park next to Sussex Uni is packed full of excellent Singletrack.
Next to this is the Wild Park which had some steeper trails with a few more added features.
Obviously there is the South Downs with the South Downs Way running through it for some 'wind in your helmet' XC. More than just the SDW to be ridden on the Downs around Brighton.
A short drive towards Eastbourne there is Friston Forest. Again this is packed full of Singletrack. The Friston Club have a map if you google it.
Steyning is near by, more steep trails than full on DH. Well maintained by the locals, getting involved with a dig day would be the best way to be shown around.
In under an hour you can be in the Surrey Hills which is packed full of great trails. I head up there most weekends at the moment.
The local Brighton MTB club do rides on Tue and Thur evening. If you check out their forum (google brighton mtb forum) we also arrange rides every weekend.
Cheers guys, great info: as soon as we know when we're going I'll contact all of above.
