Any suggestions for a short pump for tyres up to 2.4".
The Topeak Micro looks ideal but is it efficient enough? Don't mind too much if it takes 3 or 4 minutes to inflate. I'm not racing and rarely puncture anyway since going tubeless. Just doing away with a pack these days and have rode without anything besides water and a multi tool lately but know I'll get caught out at some point.
Thanks!
You may need a teenage lad to help you inflate a 2.4 with a mini pump that quickly.
I swallowed my pride and got a bigger Lezyne HV pump that sits next to the bottle cage. It gets filthy, still works.
I've been looking into them recently as well as I wanted something smaller to fit in my new trendy bum bag.
I ended up buying a CO2 inflator instead.
I've got a jobsworth micro pump from PX on each bike. Tiny, light, and £3 a throw. Takes a while to inflate, but it does inflate. And as above, puncture so rarely it's not worth going spendy or being too worried about how long it takes.
Tried co2, however the couple of times I've punctured I've been out in the sticks and I'd have been stuffed if there were any more punctures. Also co2 heavier than a micro pump if you are taking more than a couple of cartridges.
CO2 and hip pack for rides up to 3 hours (ish). I take 2 cartridges but it's easier to store 3 small cylinders in a hip pack than one longer one.
Rucksack and pump for longer rides.
The specialized air tool mini mtb has been decent. Shifts a lot of air for such a little pump. You also get a nice tube holder with a tyre lever.
I was looking at these reviews on cycling tips and it seemed just what I was after.

Topeak Mini Dual DX - small enough to carry in jersey pocket (although the top sticks out), does a very satisfying thing where it adds air on both halves of the stroke!
Gets a 2.3 tyre up really quick and easy to get plenty of pressure in a road tyre. No gauge but I've never seen an accurate one on a mini pump. Head does both presta and Schrader so you can offer assistance to people in trouble with BSOs without the hassle of flipping a head valve.
For an XC race I'll carry gas but that seems wasteful anywhere else. For a tubeless fail that a pump can't remedy, I'd be sticking a tube in anyway.
I'm not sure why people, who do not race, put success of their ride in jeopardy because they don't want to carry proper tool for the job?
Especially that pump like Topeak Turbo Morph doesn't weigh a tonne, fits into any pack, even the tinny one and is very efficient in inflating even fat bike tyres.
Cheers!
I.

I love my Topeak Turbo Morph, it's great at inflating tyres but it most definitely does not fit into any pack. It doesn't fit into mine or the wife's hip packs. Not even close.
I've carried the Lezyne Pressure Drive CFH for a few years now. Reliable mix of CO2 & wrist action.

Unless they are like oversized wallets xD
Fitting OK into Wingnut Hyper 3 and all my other packs. Smaller and bigger alike...
Cheers!

I have the OneUp EDC pump, on a bracket by the water bottle cage. I'm using the 100cc version, it's a brilliant pump, thinking about ordering a 70cc one for my gravel bike now too.
I have a Topeak Mountain DA which is small enough to squeeze in a waist pack but normally lives by the bottle cage.
Lezyne Pocket Drive looks good though if you want even smaller.
Do the Lezyne pumps still have the handy inbuilt valve core remover? 😀

Only an issue if you make the same mistake twice 😄
