Hi all, does anyone else find that they routinely wear our their mech hanger at the point where the B adjustment screw contacts it? I've had this happen many times across several different bikes (all shimano mechs and aluminium hanger). Starting to cost a lot in replacement hangers!
I'm wondering about somehow putting putting a steel shim in because aluminium just doesn't seem up to it...
Anyone else had this problem and found a good solution?

not had it cause a lot of damage but yes,I know where your coming from.

I did once think of doing as you suggest, making a thin steel shim for the contract point but never bothered in the end.

Never.

How old is the bike?

Never seen any evidence of it myself.

2 xc/enduro bikes running xt rear mechs and one downhill bike running a shimano saint.
Granted I ride a lot of off road, but I don't hammer the bikes excessively. The latest hanger can't have done more than 10 rides and costs £30 to replace!

Think the steel shim idea might be my next plan
