Wrong time of year for a thread, but what's good at the moment?

My BT70's died after 8 years, it turns on but stopped changing through the modes. I've already got two good battery packs with the standard jack plug so don't want to get another full system or something with another connector.

Preferably ~3000lumens, and as wide a beam as possible, the BT70 with it's diffuser lens has spoilt me and I don't want to go back to anything spotty, that's what the helmet lights for.

And preferably lighter/smaller than the BT70, it's drawback was it's habit of snapping bar mounts (even after swapping to hope mounts!)

Budget?
I've had a few exposure units over the years and nothing at all but praise for them, though something to stop me leaving them in silly places would be good.
I've got an outbound this time around, it's only had a single short run so far but seems very good.

I'd be going straight to MTBbatteries. I'm sure he'd swap connectors if they didn't match.

No idea about the lights, but mtbbatteries will rewire your old batteries with whatever connector you need for the new ones.

I've just got a lifeline pavo 2500 from crc. 72 quid with EXTRA10.

very impressed actually, broad beam spread, usb c charging, simple interface.

Yep, my helmet light is a lumenator of a similar vintage and still working perfectly, although I've fabricated a better (lower) helmet mount for it. I checked and the lumenator just seems to have been incrementally improved, and I really need something with more oomph as my riding buddies are on Four4th lamps (great lamps, but exposure money)!

Budget?

Preferably "light head only" as I've already got the batteries. i.e. $40-$50 vaguely reputable Chinese stuff like my old Nitefighter BT70 which really was the dogs doohickies in 2015.

A Six-Pack would be awesome, but for that money I could get a chinese light and a 2nd hand Kicker V5 to while away the evenings!

Although the Pavo 3500 motion looks good. What voltage is the USB-C charging at, could you check the plug? I'm wondering if I could hack one of my existing batteries to output via a USB-C connector.

@thisisnotaspoon

Sorry for the late reply... The usb is regular standard usb c 5v. The charger supplied is a pretty standard 5v 2A output usb charger/outlet.

The 3500 version specs have the same battery capacity and same run time listed. I think it's fair to say the 3500 version is going to throttle it's output very quickly to achieve the run times so I think in practice there will be very little real world difference in brightness.

The only thing the 'motion' thing does is turn the light output down when you stop. It doesn't adjust for speed/inclination etc like exposure lights do. Just seems another thing to go wrong! The constant modes match the pavo 2500 for output.

I didn't see the extra £20 worth it.

The Halfords 1800 lights are very good. A mate has one on his bars and it's not massively outdone by my exposure maxxd.
