Morning all! Can anyone suggest a destination for later in the year? I've looked at a few companies who finish their season around end of September which is a bit early for us.
Cheers!

Don't think you'll find much in the alps. I'd be looking at the Spanish companies.

Moab/fruita was great that time of year. Cool in the morning, but still plenty warm enough to ride in t shirt and shorts once the sun comes up. We went about 5 years ago and had a great time at October half
Term. Let me know if you
Want route/accom info.

I regularly go to the Alps in October. There are no uplifts, so you have to climb! The weather is unpredictable: last year it snowed and I enjoyed some impromptu snowboarding! Two days before it was tee shirt weather. I take clothes for all weathers and just get out and enjoy the quiet as the resort is dead. I usually take a road and a mountain bike. If you don't mind climbing and changeable weather it's great fun and a week away from the rat race with your mates.

I'd look further south. Brilliant biking at that time of the year in southern Spain but also Italy - Tuscany or Sardinia are great. Could also look at Morocco too for guaranteed sunshine and the same travel time as Andalucia!

How far do you want to go? Want some added culture shock? I was just chatting to a colleague about this trip. Did it last year and it was great.

We run our Backcountry Pyrenees trips until the middle of November. It´s all fully booked for the year apart from the 1st week in November and a couple of spaces in May.

Finale Ligure would get my vote for October - about 20 degrees or thereabouts. Really good to ride right next to the see as well.

As Gary said go out with MTB Kerala! We did this one:
http://www.mountainbikekerala.com/category/kerala-singletrack

Our review here: http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/a-terrific-10-days-with-mountainbikekerala

Amazing trip! alternatively look at this one:
http://cycleactive.com/index.php/mtb-tours/africa/morocco

Our review:
http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/mtbing-in-morocco-youve-got-to-go

OR this one:
http://cycleactive.com/index.php/mtb-tours/asia-pacific/turkey

Our review: http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/terrific-week-in-cappadocia-turkey-with-cycleactive

We have done all three and you can find loads of reviews on here for each trip.. but here they are! Worth every penny.
On googling there are lots of good companies in Spain, just not Sierra Cycling.

We have the the best climate in Europe. Stunning singletrack rides with plenty of bus uplift during the day & fantastic après-bike on the coast at night.

I went to Madeira last October. Best place I have ever been with my bike. Check out 'freeridemadeira'

We booked the holiday independently and arranged guiding days with them. Great island, nice people, cheap food and booze. Weather is generally good but it is pretty variable due to the geography.

Have been away with Mike @ MTB Kerala twice now, had a brilliant time on both occasions, we did the single track tour both times would love to go back & do the Singalia ridge.

Also been away to Morocco & Spain with Freeride Spain (morocco), epic riding & great company

I have also spent a week with Sierra Cycling, bit more of a laid back holiday with shorter days, but great nights 😉

Have you thought about South Africa? http://www.irideafrica.com another great trip

I'm running my Garda trips until the end of September, then I'm doing 2 weeks in Finale until the 18th October. We still use uplifts then but in a shuttle bus.

There is a 9 day trip to Finale including the EWS final round that has 2 places left. The week after has 8 places.

Try Freeride Madeira.

I did 3 rides with them last October - Madeira is a simply stunning island and the riding is great.

For the past two years Lake Garda has had fantastic weather the first two weeks of October. You could try there?

Pyrenees should be good - there is another post with pics with Bike Vallespir which looks awesome - South East down near the border. Mates said Basque MTB also fabulous..........
Final suggestion is Gran Canaria if you want to do it independently. Valley of Tears is something else!
