Looking for somewhere in August, wife is happy for me to go off on the bike as long as we stay in a nice hotel and she has a beach.

Finale is an obvious choice but not sure if uplifts etc run in August?

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Actual beach by the sea? Some of the Austrian and German (or even italian) lakes are lovely to sit around and splash in and the riding in August might be a tiny bit cooler that you will find around near mediterranean beaches.

Or Cyprus. OK beaches but the Trudos range is 2000m high, a lot cooler than the coast and a reasonable length drive away. Dedicated  mtb trails up there.

Fort William? Or Italian lakes if you want it a little warmer

Basque MTB worked for us. Not beachfront but nice villa with pool overlooking the Port. Beach a walk away maybe 15 mins. Quiet chilled atmosphere, taps/gin bars on the front in the evenings. Really good riding too. Check it out if she is happy with a slightly alternative beach hol.

Côte d’Azur has nicer beaches than the Italian side imo but it will be heaving in August as the French school

s are on holiday. Italian lakes are a good shout (the north of Garda Lake is the German mtb Mecca). What kind of riding are you looking for?
