So I've been riding and racing without a bag since last summer. I've been carrying Co2 in my back pocket while racing and most of the time a mate has a pump on the local rides.

I've seen a few on google which mount to the bottle cage with the pump one side and Co2 bottles on the other side. But its hard to tell how secure everything is held in place for mtb purposes. And do they protrude massively from the frame?

No idea on that particular one with the CO2, however I did have a cage mounted pump on a hardtail for a while.

While it was secure and it didn't get in the way, the pump attracted every bit of mud and puddle on the trail. When I eventually needed it it was horrible to pick off the frame, made a horrible grinding noise and didn't really last too long before air came out of bits air shouldn't come out of.

Unless it has a good protective cover or you don't mind sticking it all in a freezer bag first then I'd not bother personally.

I have a leynze mini pump at the side of the bottle cage, it does not protrude akwardly at all and it is very secure. It has a piece of velcro round it and it doesn't rattle or come loose at all.

I have an SKS CO2 pump that attaches to a bottle cage bolt and a cartridge holder that attaches a spare to the other bolt. Rock solid.

As above the lezyne alloy pump is quality and is by far the best mini pump I've ever used, and is secure under the water bottle, but bag it up otherwise gets wet and muddy fast

Why not just put your bits in an unused bottle in the cage, a la roadie style? Keep it clean and you can stuff something inside to stop stuff rattling about.

Yeah true I just got a lifeline wiggle bottle specifically for this, just fits a 29er inner, levers a mini tool and 2xco2 and nozzle
